Web site to check status of payment and enter bank account information is up.

You can use this web site to check the status of your payment and, if the Treasury does not have direct deposit information, you can update your bank account information.

Enjoy! (But don’t get too stimulated.)

I don’t think it’s working very well. This is the message I got:

“According to information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time.”

We have lived at this address for the past 3 years and should be eligible for the full amount.

Ah well, I should do our 2019 taxes anyway - it shouldn’t take very long.

The site was not up for me last night. Today is the much anticipated “mid April”.

I know a few days ago I saw a rough timeline that showed how the payments were going to rollout based on income. I didn’t think mine was going to show up for a while, but it was in my account this morning.

Payments by check are going to be rolled out based on income, not payments by direct deposit.

Apparently direct deposit goes to 2018-2019 tax filers first, then, later in April, to SS and SSDI, recipients for which they have acct. numbers.

Thanks for posting this, Alley Dweller; it worked fine for me. Quick and easy.

Yesterday I went to the irs page and filed my 2019 as non filer. I only made approximately sixty dollars last year. Included my bank info. It said it would fly me know by tomorrow if it’s accepted. I hope I may get that check.

Haven’t seen the direct deposit show up yet even though Bank of America is listed as an already-depositing bank for others. I’m starting to worry either IRS doesn’t have the bank account info after all, or is going to mail a check after a few months.

Thanks for the link. Took a while to access, but was able to enter all the appropriate information. We didn’t get a refund, so they didn’t have our DD number. We do get SS payments, so eventually it would have kicked in.

It worked for me, but it said they couldn’t determine my elegibility. The FAQ says it will go to US residents (I live abroad), but expats are not listed on the “ineligible” page. So who knows.

I got the message that Eva Luna got.

I don’t need a stimulus check. I was planning on putting it in savings. But I’m still pissed. I don’t like being jerked around by a system that seems to have no problem determining my eligibility when it comes to taking money out of my paycheck.

Thanks for flagging this.

I have already filed my 2019 return -and received my refund - but it was done via paper check.

I was able to successfully submit my bank info for direct deposit.

Does anyone know whether people who didn’t get refunds the past couple of years (like yours truly), but whose payments for taxes owed were made from the bank account information provided on their tax returns, will have that account information used for the stimulus payments? One would hope so, but no FAQ that I have seen specifically addresses that question.

It refused my filing. Not sure why, I didn’t have a pin for the year before. Frustrated

Piggyback question: What is the cutoff date for a person who has died to get the check (or their estate that is)?

Googling so far is unhelpful. (Some guesses on Intuit forums. Right, guesses. I want to get guesses on estate/tax-ish stuff.)

The CARES Act says

The federal payments defined in section 3332 are payments FROM the federal government, not payments TO the federal government.

So it appears that they will not be using accounts that you used to make payments, just accounts that you used to receive payments.

There is no reference that I can find to deceased persons in the CARES Act or in any guidance published by the IRS. As best as I can tell if the deceased filed a 2018 or 2019 return (or someone filed one on behalf of the deceased) and that return showed they were eligible (income in the right range, not claimed as a dependent), then a check will be issued to them.

Payment Status Not Available
According to information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time.
From what I hear, a lot of people are getting this.

Aye; that was my issue as well.
