Weeds, again.

Andy the sleezy, lazy brother deserves nothing less than to be GW’s thug in Iraq. That scene with him and Kevin Nolan was hi-la-rious! “Don’t you remember 911? We had to do something to Iran.”

DEA! Ha! That’s what Nancy gets, she should be saving that booty for the jungle love she knows she wants to share with Conrad.
I sometimes actually feel sorry for Celia. Not when her daughter’s “lesbian” girlfriend told her mom that Celia doesn’t like immigrants. She totally deserved that.
Who else is watching?

I have the episode on DVR and will probably watch it tonight or tomorrow…it is the last episode this season, right?

Any word on it being picked up for next season?

I like the show a lot more than I thought I would. Very funny and hope it gets picked up for a second season.

I like the show too. My favorite episode so far is the one where Nancy had a quickie with the Hispanic guy (Alejandro?). Then a few minutes later she gets a call on her cell phone from Peter (?), and she just sat there, in her car, wondering what the hell was she doing!

I haven’t had that particular experience, but there were plenty of times that things got out of control and I did something stupid. That scene felt really real.

Her parenting probably won’t win her any Mother of the Year awards, but I like how she treats her kids like people.

That was so great:

After seeing episode 9 and noticing that Silas had moved up from a pipe to a bong, I had a feeling that a mother/son confrontation on the issue was coming soon, but I have to admit that the DEA thing really took me by surprise.

Same here. When I heard what the series about, and that it was a comedy, I was expecting some typical stoner fare. Not so. The characters really have some depth to them, the storylines are interesting, and the show does an admirable job of mixing comedy and drama.

Monday’s episode was the season finale and there’s no word yet on whether it’s being picked up for a second season. I’ve got my fingers crossed.

OK - finally saw the episode last night and for about the 6th time this season, my DVR cut off the last minute or two. Damn, I hate that either my cable provider or Showtime lists the time incorrectly and the show runs over!!!

At any rate, I am taping it AGAIN, but if anyone can tell me - did I miss anything in the last minute or two? It cut off when you saw the grandmother holding her new grandbaby and wondering where her son was and then…bam. Out. Off. End of story.

Nancy went to Peter’s house. They started making out before she even got inside.

The important thing about that was that they had sex, and after the sex (whe Peter was asleep), Nancy got up and put on one of Peter’s t-shirts that he had lying over a chair in his bedroom. When she made it to the bathroom she looked in the mirror and saw that it was one of those “DEA shirts” (similar to the “FBI jackets” you’ve probably seen on TV - plain navy blue jackets with “FBI” in big yellow letters on it).

**DMark[/ib] - what kind of DVR is it? If it’s a Scientific Atlanta one, you can go to the “Recording Options” section of any recording and change the “end time” to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 120, or 180 minutes past the scheduled end time for a program (I do this all the time for football games). Fox is especially bad about starting thier shows a minute early or a minute late.

I have tried that and it just doesn’t seem to work. I have to literally tape the following show. It sucks, and Weeds has been the worst show for this overtime glitch of all of the shows I record on DVR.

Tonight I taped the two repeats, back to back, and finally got to see the two minutes I missed. Thankfully this show is repeated, or I would be really pissed, but thanks for letting me know how it ended…just in case my re-recording screwed up as well.

Hope this show is picked up again!

Really? My DVR didn’t catch that. Or is this a whoosh?

That was the funniest part of the show! Beside the Iraq war rant.
I tell ya, if she didn’t have bad luck she’d have no luck at all.

Well, it looks like my DVR isn’t the only one acting up. I taped both shows the other night (they run repeats back to back) and yes indeed, when she put on the dude’s shirt, there it was - DEA in big letters on her back…her face was priceless.

Sure hope it is picked up next year as this is a good starting point!

A possible explanation for Weeds being more likely than other shows to elicit this problem is that, unlike network shows, episodes of Weeds don’t have to fit into a very narrow timeframe. The runtimes for this season’s episodes range from 26 to 31 minutes (a fact that I noticed over the weekend during the process of making myself custom DVDs of the season).
