3:30 PM (6) LSU at (9) Georgia
3:30 PM (8) Florida State at Boston College
6:30 PM (21) Ole Miss at (1) Alabama
7:00 PM (10) Texas A&M at Arkansas
8:00 PM (23) Wisconsin at (4) Ohio State
10:00 PM (5) Stanford at Washington State
10:30 PM California at (2) Oregon
I voted that Georgia will beat LSU between the hedges, but that one could go either way, and should be a hell of a game.
Alabama is in for a test at home against Ole Miss, but I think they’re up to the challenge. Ole Miss has some big receivers that will cause matchup issues, and they’ve got a true freshman DE that is an absolute beast. Bama is…Bama. Solid defense, and a sometimes explosive offense, plus excellent special teams.
LSU will beat Georgia, who will fall out of the to p10… but just barely. The voters, given their druthers, would have the top 10 consist entirely of SEC teams. A loss in the SEC barely counts as a loss, to voters.
I’m still not 100% sold on Ohio State, and would love to pick Wisconsin to upset them… but I think Ohio State will survive.
I think Ole Miss pulls it off - Alabama isn’t immune to that one mid season screw up and the Rebels are better than people think. And LSU beats the Dawgs - Mark Richt is just not good at game planning for these types of games.
Please note that I miscounted the number of days before the first game. As a result, even though the poll won’t close until 09-28-2013 at 04:25 PM, I will cut off updating this array after 3:20 PM. Anything after that will be “just for laughs.”
I don’t think LSU is as good as people think, so the Bulldogs will win at home. I also picked Ohio State to go down, but I’m real iffy on that one. If I was betting actual money instead of just a poll response, I wouldn’t have picked them, but I just really, really want them to go down. (sorry Buckeyes)
Georgia up 24-17 at the half. LSU is unable to stop the run, and unable to run the ball. They are, however, throwing the ball well. Georgia’s starting RB rolled his ankle in a cringe-worthy moment, unknown if he’ll be back in the second half.
Georgia stood up when it counted, and it’s a win for the Bulldogs at home. Hell of a game though, and may be the best one I’ve seen so far this season.
