Weekend shaving

I work a 9-5, Monday-to-Friday job. For me, shaving is an activity that goes with the workweek – characterizes it, even. In consequence, I never shave on the weekends unless I darn well have to.

How typical is this behavior, at least among Dopeniks?

No weekend shaving for me, unless the wife makes me do it for some reason.

I shave every day, weekend or no. Have to…stubble bugs the snot out of me, especially on my head.

I only shave on weekends if we’re going out to a nice restaurant or a social gathering.

I have sparse facial hair and shave only every few days anyway. I rarely shave on the weekend.

My SO shaves his face every Saturday, but only some Sundays.

I sometimes wish that he’d shave his head more often: he tends to only shave it once a week, usually on Mondays, so by the weekend there’s hair again. But for some reason this week he shaved it on Thursday, and I got to rub a still-mostly-smooth head last night.

I work Tuesday-Saturday and only shave on Tuesdays. (I’m still working on the whole puberty thing.) Yeah, I’m pretty stubbly by Saturday, but it’s a skeleton crew at work and no one cares. And my wife likes my stubble by the weekend.

A lot of times, I shave more completely on weekends. During the week, I’m often in a race to get out the door on time, so I do a quick blind shave in the shower and do a quick touch-up at the sink to make myself presentable.

On weekeneds when I can linger at home, though, I’ll spend the time to shave properly. I love being completely clean-shaven, without a touch of scruffiness on my face, and weekends are the only time I can currently indulge in the luxury.

I miss being younger; I could get away with shaving once a week until I was in my early 20s. Now, it’s an everyday thing.

I usually don’t shave on the weekends. No good reason other than I’m lazy and I like to give my face a break from the scraping.

My husband never shaves on weekends, holidays, or vacations. He had about two weeks off at Christmas, and very nearly qualified as beard-having by the end.

Only when I’m expected to look nice.

Ditto for me (except I’m the guy, not the wife of the guy. And I didn’t get two weeks off at Christmas, although I was ragged after 4 days of facial hair).

I shave about half the time on weekends. I’d rather not shave at all, but I’ve gotten to the age where the stubble is gray & that doesn’t look nearly as cool as Don Johnson did.

I usually only shave Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Oh I have lots of facial hair alright. I just hate shaving, and if I shave every day I get hamburger face. I use an electric razor (it’s easier on my skin) and it can take 15 minutes. Three times a week is plenty. I have to plan shave days in advance if I have meetings, etc.

I very rarely shave on non-work days.

I give my razor one day off a week. If I have to get up really early after working a late night I’ll probably skip shaving too.
About once every other week I go for the big shave. I’ll let you imagine what that entails.

I rarely shave on Saturdays. For that matter my Friday ritual is to not shave and wear a T-shirt to work. The exception to both is if I need to look nice for some reason or other.

I shave on Sunday for church.

Are we talking about pubes?

Nope, no pube shaving on the weekends for me. Holidays – it depands.

I just did the weekend shave for the first time in a long while. And of course, when I was attending church on Sundays I’d shave for that. Beyond the “shave for work” ethic, there’s also the “not wanting to look like a slob/freak” ethic at work.

I shave about 5 days a week. If a big meeting is coming up (clean jeans) I’ll shave. I’d kinda like to go the beard route again.

Two of the guys I work with shave there heads and always wear hats. I guess that is easier. But nobody really cares if your going bald.
