I work at a University. Before that, advertising. Shaving isn’t that big of a deal. I shave once a week. Monday.
My hair growth pattern requires me to shave every third day, but if that day falls on a weekend and I’m not going anywhere I do sometimes not bother. Still, I much prefer being clean shaved so I won’t go longer than four days without shaving (even when I was off for two weeks over xmas and didn’t leave the house for a week I shaved regularly).
Sunday night. I’m stubbley. The only reason I was smooth yesterday is because we had someplace to go that required a suit and tie. Otherwise, I’m Grizzly Adams all weekend.
I wear a beard, so it’s not so much of an issue for me any longer. Back when I did shave, it was 2x a day to keep it contained properly. Now, I mostly touch up those areas that that beard hasn’t filled in yet about twice a week.
Leaffan, If shaving causes you that much trouble you owe it to yourself to join the ranks of the bearded!
I shave every second work day. I have irregular days of work and will sometimes have 7 days or more off, in that case I end up with a bit of a beard. The longer I go without shaving, the more reluctant I am to do it.
I used to shave weekends, not any more. After a bank holiday weekend I am approaching the Greg House look.
When I was in college, I foolishly shaved every day, or at the most, every other day. Now, it’s MAYBE twice a week.
I shave every time I shower. I will occasionally skip both on a single weekend day. I never really understood the aversion to shaving. I have thick hair and need to shave every day. It takes less than 90 seconds and takes way less work than other things in the day. I don’t understand fancy razors or other complex implements either. Single-blade disposables and cheap shaving cream work just fine. I have always had the sneaking suspicion that my fellow men don’t know what the hell they are doing. Shaving is a very quick and uncomplicated element of personal hygiene.
The difference, I guess, is that you shave in the shower, which I agree would be somewhat faster. But as a myopic-American, it’s not really an option for me. Anyway, I’m leary of speeding up shaving, because the number of cuts I get is really dependent on how fast I do it. But it’s not really the bother that’s at issue. It’s more that not shaving is a symbolic escape from tyrannical weekday ritual.
I shave when I think about it. It’s not unusual to shave Sunday when I have time to do it right, then skip Monday when I’m always running late. I keep a rechargeable Norelco in the car for those days I don’t realize I’m getting shaggy until halfway to work.
I don’t like shaving. I’ll do it once a week or week-and-a-half. If I shave twice withing a few days, I’ll break out in razor burn. Plus, when I shave after I’ve got a nice semi-grizzly face, I feel like I actually accomplished something.
I’m luckily rather hairless and even though I’m 25, my dad says that will eventually change but I shave once a week Friday before a date. If I didn’t manage to line up a date that weekend that means no shave. If I’m in a slump, I’ll shave my neck after 3 weeks to give me that working on a beard look. Strangely, that seams to break the slump most of the time.
I usually shave one weekend day – either Sat or Sun, nut not both, unless I gotta. I can’t let the beard get too long, not even two days, as it gets tough as nails and more difficult to remove. I’ve shaved in the shower, but I usually shave as soon as I get out of the shower. Either way, I can’t get it done in ninety seconds. It’s three minutes at least, and I hate every second of it. If I haven’t showered to soften the beard up, it’s a brutal exercise.
I generally only shave Mon-Wed-Fri, and I try to avoid shaving on the weekend. Well, unless I’m going someplace I want to look nice for.
Shave every day unless I’m horrifically sick. I have a quick-growing beard, don’t like looking like a hobo, and find it easier just to follow my morning bathroom routine than remind myself that I don’t have to.
My default setting is a goatee, and I hardly ever shave the rest on a weekend. The trouble is, because I usually shave every other day during the week, this occasionally leads me to think (as it has done this weekend) "eh, I have 3 days of growth, maybe I should grow the beard in). This is a mistake, as beards annoy the crap out of me.
How do you grizzly people deal with them? All the itching along the neckline, and don’t get me started about soup in the mustache.
I shave every day Monday through Thursday. Friday I shave about 80% of the time. Saturday, maybe 20%, depending on the social calendar. Sunday, maybe 10% of the time, depending mostly if I didn’t shave Friday.
Ditto.
I fluctuate between a beard and a goatee primarily because I detest shaving so much.
Shave on a weekend? Bwhaa… good one!
Not on weekends, unless I have to (party, etc).
Four-day weekends where I do nothing but home improvements for four days = early stages of Grizzly Adams.
