I work Monday to Thursday and then have three days off. I usually shave once during the weekend and two or three times during the week, but not necessarily in the morning as I don’t have time. I’m more likely to do it Sunday evening, Tuesday morning and Wednesday night, or something like that. There are plenty of scruffier people than me in the office…
The itching will stop shortly after the beard grows out enough to soften, and can be kept neat with trimming. As for soup in the moustache, well it ain’t called a flavor-saver for nothing!
I shave every work day, per our Corporate policy. We can either be clean-shaven, or have a beard…no stubble.
On weekends, I usually shave once except for weekend when there are events on both days.
I usually skip shaving on the weekend, which means that I’m usually pretty scratchy by Saturday night, which is when I can usually have some alone time with my wife, which hasn’t been panning out for me like it used to… Hey, wait a minute!
Recently I’ve been shaving once per weekend, usually Saturday afternoon/evening.
That sounds like me; Monday through Friday I work, and it usually seems like the wife and I have something going on sometime on Saturday or Saturday night, so I end up shaving. Rarely do I have something social on Sunday, so I’m usually stubbly.
If we’re just running errands, working in the yard, going for a walk, etc., then I may not bother.
But I’m still just as likely to not like what I see by Sunday morning, and shave it off–if I didn’t already on Sat. because we were going out (even if it’s nothing fancy, I like looking nice when I’m with my wife).
So, I’d say 2/3 of the time, I shave one of the two days, but almost never both.
I hate not shaving. It makes me feel dirty, like not taking a shower for a week. The only days I haven’t shaved are days I’m terribly sick.
Ha ha, soften, that’s a good one. Surely 'twas I whom the Bard described as “black wires grow on [his] [face].” I know what you’re saying-- they do soften up a bit. I can feel how soft my goatee is, but I’ve gotten to that stage (briefly) a couple of times, and the real issue isn’t actual itching, I suppose, but just being irritated. And not red skin irritated, more just psychologically. Dunno, I’ve never been able to wear rings or watches/bracelets (necklaces are ok, though) because the way they feel annoys the crap out of me, so maybe I’m just weird.
We’ll see, though. I decided not to shave today, so I’m on day 4 of growth. Maybe I’ll make it this time. Wish me luck!
Does arm hair make you feel dirty? I assume you don’t shave that every day (ewwww).
Do you mean you feel mentally dirty, or physically?
I shave Monday and Wednesday, sometimes Friday. I never shave on the weekends. I also never shave on vacations. Shaving every day gives me horrible razor burn, no matter whether I use electric or regular razor (and I’ve tried all types, even the straight blade).
I also shave my head once a week, sometimes more.
