Welcome a friend AND name a kitten

Please extend a warm Doper welcome to a good friend ** kristoph**. He’s a great guy with a good sense of humour and I’ll think you’ll enjoy his company. He currently shares a place with me.

Secondly, he and his g/f have just acquired a gorgeous little grey kitten with white ‘socks’ and are in the market for a name for her. Suggestions welcome.

Welcome kristoph! Can someone with as few posts as me welcome someone? Eh, bugger the rules.

As for the kitten, I think they should name it something like Archaon Destroyer of Worlds, but that’s just me. I wanna find the cutest pet possible and give it a name like that.

They could call it Archie for short.

IMHO, “Chicken of Bristol”
would be a wonderful name for a kitten.

I still think Cthulu is a great name for a cat.
Alternately, I used to know a grey cat called Disrali, who was a regular sweetheart.

Welcome, kristoph!

Any friend of wyldelf’s is more than welcome to be a friend of mine! Hope you enjoy your stay.

I almost adopted a grey kitten once, and I was going to name him Gandalf. Don’t know wny, guess I always pictured Gandalf in the ring trilogy as being a predominantly grey man.

Scotti

Kristoph, have you ever seen the cartoon “Sponge Bob Square Pants”? It cracks me up. Anyway, he’s got this snail pet that meows. The pet’s name is Gary. I find the name Gary highly appropriate for either a boy or a girl, socks or no.

If you haven’t seen the cartoon, I think it either comes on Nickelodeon or the Cartoon Network on Sunday mornings. I always happen to catch it.

Well, if it really is a sweet kitten you probably wouldn’t want to name it Tobermory, but it’s my favorite cat name. If you haven’t read the story by the same name, by H. H. Munro(aka Saki) get it and read it.

Personally, I’ve always wanted to get a cat and name it Dog. And then when I get a dog, I can name it Cat.

Hi kristoph! If your kitten does have the little “boots,” why not call it Galoshes?

The funny thing is, I’ve actually known people who named their cat Galoshes.

No problem wyldelf!
:MikeG gets out his special naming pen and starts to think…:

I’ll get back to you-
Welcome to the boards kristoph, any friend of wylds is a friend of mine. [sub]lucky bastard-you get to see her!![/sub]

How about Mr. Tornado Sweaty Cool Guy?

Kristoph will be in later today to say hi to everyone, but before he jumps in I thought I would give you a bit of background on him.

Kristoph and I have known each other for about 12 or so years now. We went to high school together in a small country town in Queensland.

Beware though - he has the same warped sense of humour that I do and has no way to control it. We are trying to place him on some Class A drugs but he just eats them like candy and asks for more.

As for the cat, well personally I think she should be called Princess Twinkle Toes (Twinkie for short), cause I can just picture the look on people’s faces when they ask what its name is and you have to answer “well, actually it is ummmm…Princess Twinkle Toes”. Actually the name kinda suits her - she is an absolute little terror.

Anyways Kristoph and I go back a hell of a long way so if he gets out of line at all and can’t be controlled - just let me know (cause I have all the blackmail information)

I love you Kristoph!!!

How about Puss in Boots, and call her Boots for short?
Welcome!

thanks to all, am feeling more than welcome already. Wyldelf has been engrosed in the going ons around here, and I thought it time to join the party, stick my face around the corner as it was and say Hi.

“Hi!!”

and yes, like any new father, I’ve been awake since the wee hours this morning, finding our new daughter batting my nose with her paws, I think she was trying to say something, like “no time for sleep, play with me now!!!”, or maybe it was the moth that was sleeping on my upper lip, I’m not sure yet…

Scotticher, love the idea of Gandalf, but I never imagined him in a skirt, mind you, I see Wyldelf neglected to share that piece of info for you all. and by the way, any one looking for blackmail material on that particular little darling, step this way and look into this deep, deep sack, try not to get lost, and keep your hands on the rope, find your way out with that…

MikeG, am eagerly awaiting the results of your pondering, although I don’t know if you realise what you are getting yourself into with said little darling. be afraid, be very afraid. s

okay, as for me? love to laugh, usually have a smile on my face (which is what s is!), and please, rarely take my random mumbling seriously, these drugs Wyldelf has me skoffing tend to obscure the point that I had in mind at the start of any said sentence.

thanks all for the welcome!!!

**gives Kristoph the dpr Presidential Seal Of Approval **

Yep, I heartily endorse Kristoph - he’s a great guy (at least that’s what we want you to think).

and I’m predicting big things from this one…
[/dj]
And I think the kitten should be called Karma so they can scold it with “Bad Karma!” and always have “Good Karma” on hand…

1979 (The Year of the Child): Paul Shirley (21) of Australia, sucked a lifesaver for 4 hrs 40 mins, Voyager 1 reached Jupiter, the world's longest doubles ping-pong match (101 hours), Maggie Thatcher becomes the first female PM of GB, Iran hostage drama

IMHO, pet names have to come to you in an epiphany of sorts; there has to be a fit between name & pet. Several months ago an feral kitten adopted me. She’s still feral, but comes in & out of the house, and I got her trapped & spayed a couple of months ago, so we had to give her a name. Took days for the SO & I to come up with “Daphne”…we tried all kinds of names before we came up with that one.

BTW, Daphne is a little striped grey cat with white feet.

But doesn't he have the same info on you, Elfie?

Welcome Kristoph.

Hope you enjoy your stay! Have fun, and let us know what you name the kitten.

Name it Ker-splat. Or Rufus. Or Professor puddingpants.

well, she’s had her shots today, last night went AWOL on us for the first time, causing a 20 min search throughout the house and yard, before finding her curled up 2 yards from where she was last sighted, curled up asleep under a wardrobe, oblivious to everything … this is going to be a fun experience!!!

well, so far the endorsement bestowed upon her by the esteemed dpr has the feild at bay, my SO last night summed it up I think with the quote “There’s Karma for ya.” … seemed much funnier at the time hmmmmmmmm

by the way, does anyone know if kittens keep regular sleep patterns, experience to this point indicates not, oh well,

thanks all, bump into you all around the halls
