Welcome Back Kotter

I wish Welcome Back Kotter were still on TV. Does anyone know how to tell a Tv station this without getting one of those stupid “we care about your concern…etc…keep watching” letters?

And does anyone else want Welcome Back Kotter on TV again?
I mean, who doesn’t like the Sweathogs?

I watched marathons of that show while I was in college. I was worried at first that it might not hold up the way I remembered it when I was five. I was right - it was bad, but I watched it anyway.

1970s TV shows don’t seem to wear as well in reruns as 1950s or 1960s shows. I think there isn’t as large a bloc of viewers who liked the 70s. The Baby Boomers will always outvote the Baby Busters.

Hmm, isn’t Welcome Back Kotter shown regularly on either Nick-at-Nite or its sister station (TV Land)? Call your cable company. I know they used to show it, anyway.

Yeah, I think TV Land has shown WBK in marathons.

Of course, they can’t reunite the cast. Travolta’s salary alone would break a network. (Who’d believe 25 years ago that he’d be the most successful?)

Who else ya got?

Maybe in three years after he hasn’t been able to work except for “Battlefield Earth 2”, he’ll need the cash.

If I remember correctly, there was an episode of Mr. Rhodes that reunited several of the castmember of Welcome Back Kotter and they ran into just this problem. They couldn’t afford Travolta.

Of course, Travolta could truthfully claim he wouldn’t appear on such a crap-ass TV show no matter what he’d be paid.

Oh, I think if you went back to the shows run most people would have bet on Travolta as the one who would break out of that cast. Consider that while the show was still on the air in made Carrie, Saturday Night Fever, Grease, and Urban Cowboy.

I always thought that Marcia Strassman was headed for stardom, but it was not to be. She did get a part in the “Honey, I …” franchise with Disney.
