Welcome Sue Duhnym to New York DopeDinner -- Fri. 3/7

The Latest Curb Cut Update: As of this morning, the curb cuts in the Greater West 72nd Street Area were fairly to mostly clear, with the curb cut at 72nd and Amsterdam recently having been observed as almost entirely clear.

It’s a little slushy in some corners, but not bad overall.

Bill,

I appreciate your continuing curb-cut story, but I’m tired, man. I really can’t see myself training it to the city & back, with cabs in between. Been a long & slushy week.

However, I’ll invite all of you out to Korova in the Village one of these days soon, I promise - they serve alcoholic ice cream drinks!

Alcohol and ice cream, what could be better?

My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip. When I was little and my Grandmother ran out of my favorite, she would give me vanilla (my grandpa’s favorite) with creme de menthe and chocolate sauce dribbled over the top. I think it’s what has made me the alcoholic I am today.

Fond memories.

I may be a bit late but I will be there.

I’ve been to the korova milk bar. Weeeiiiirrrd place, but good beer, way cool glassware, and overall, a non-crowded place with a good atmosphere. Weird couches though.

I’d definately go.

I was thinking of going tonight, but I’m wimping out on the basis that I’m wicked tired (and pucette’s not going)

Wonko,

They’re chaise lounges, dammit.

A friend of mine bartends there, which is how I know it in the first place. I’m on a “Hey, how you been!” basis with the other bartenders & the barback (the Friday night crew, anyway) as well as Dominic, the guy who co-owns the place. Good folks, all.
