Well, avbeth, since you didn’t give me, a welcome, I guess I’m not a newbie anymore… And maybe that’s a good thing. Samarm, I’m not sure if I’m completely zen yet or not. I figure if I have to ask, I’m not.
I’m just waiting for someone to mention me in one of those ‘Dopers you’d like to meet in real life’ threads.
I love to kick them in the head and make fun of them and yell “n00b!!1!” at the top of my lungs. And I never, ever offer them any encouragement at all. Ever.
So watch out newbies. Because I’ll be watching you.
I think newbies are great! They remind me of the days long past when I was a timid, insecure noob myself, wanting to belong but fearing rejection. Then I realized that I had so much to offer, such wit, such insight, so many bon mots and profound thoughts, well, that’s when I knew I had arrived! Well, OK, maybe I exaggerate. But I have my small cadre of deeply loyal and disturbed stalkers, so that’s something.
Anyway, welcome newbies all! I’d name you one by one, but at my advanced age, I’m apt to miss someone and then there’d be hurt feelings and that would completely kill my rep as being nice and sweet and all that crap. So know that I’m talking just to you when I say, c’mon in and stay a while! And where are the obligatory snacks you’re suppose to bring for the rest of us??
Oops, sorry, jweb. I make it a rule never to welcome anyone who still questions their status:D. But welcome! (and don’t worry, even my own grandmother can’t get my name right - I’m the only granddaughter without a ‘J’ name, so I always get: “Julie? Jamie? Janelle? Avabeth! That’s your name!”
Welcome, Quantum Butterfly! Get your ass into the Pit - hell, that was the first place I started posting:). Of course, it could explain why I sleep in the fetal position every night, but…
Welcome, Wakimika and jamlad! If you brought anything to share with Zoe, you must bring enough to share with the thread. Okay? Just one simple rule. You can do that, right?
And Jazz, don’t ruin my happiness! Be nice, or I’ll put you on a flight down here next to screaming children and people who smell:p.
