Welcome to February - a pure MMP

Yes, we’ve got plenty of snow here in TVLand, too. I brought the Bubster with me to visit and I was surprised when I took him outside a few minutes ago to see how much snow had accumulated in the couple of hours since we arrived. Of course, he had fun exploring the whole yard and playing in the snow. Now we’re just waiting until he dries off a bit more (yes, I dried him as best as I could with a towel) and then we’re going to bed. Somehow I didn’t figure that TVMan would appreciate the pitter patter of cold, wet little feet running across him in the middle of the night.

it is now snowing

Wow, it was 57 degrees here when I left work at 4:30 this afternoon.

::ducks and runs for cover::

The work week has finally ended. Christ, next week promises to be worse.

I left my damn computer at work. I refuse to spend another weekend working. Fuck that.

Hugs to all those that need them. Seems like many of us are slogging through yet another rough patch.

I suppose I should cook dinner now.

FCM, I already suggested to my mom that she could send us the snow and keep the wind. I’ll make the same offer to you if you like. We can use it, you can’t, it’s a win-win! If it’s powder, that’d be even better, but I’ll take any form of snow you’d like to send.

Blurf. I ended up leaving work early today because of a nasty headache. I’ve been feeling like general crap the last couple of weeks. I’ve got a doctor’s appointment Monday, though I don’t know if there’s anything much they can tell me. But I think it’s time I get some real migraine meds.

Good news: my boss called and told me (today) that she shorted me a whole day and she would contact payroll and fix it. And she apologized. Since I had just opened my stub, this was good.

Bad news: I forgot to put gas in my car yesterday. I’m on E.

Good news: I am home, clean, fed and in my jammies.
Bad news: I have no social life.
Good news: My books came from whatever Amazon vendor decided to take forever to send them.
Bad news: I can’t read them all at once.
Good news: I am OFF for the next 2 days.
Bad news: I still have to work on Monday…

Look out, Soapy! The snow is headin’ your way*! Run!

The box set of the second season of Dexter was supposed to arrive today. It didn’t.

Sigh, I keep putting off the inevitable. I need to drag myself to the kitchen and start cooking dinner.

You need to work on your multi-tasking, then.

sets off to find out where exactly are Gnat’s buttons installed, but in a nice way

No snow here, but I do have a flood advisory.

Us, too.

I’ve had 3 calls so far tonight, and I’m soaked.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN It’s (my) Firday!!!

Stay safe and warm all y’all with snow. Still, better y’all than me!

BBBobbio and doggio we’ve had flood advisories for the past week. I’m sure low level floodin’ is happenin’ already cause there’s no where else for water to go with all the spillways and holdin’ ponds full. As long as the main bridge I have to go over does not get flooded I’m good though. Yesterday the water level there looked to be up to the banks.

Fortunately the rain has passed. However, more is on the way early part of next week and of course, what rains north of us must flow south.

Ok, time to forage and purtify for work.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

Up and caffeinated, although not going -anywhere- for a while here. It’s still blizzarding up a storm! We’ve got about 18 inches so far, with another 5-9 inches possible by the time it should end tonight. It’s very hard to tell exactly how much is out there because it’s been windy and the snow has drifted to over 2 feet in places.

And there’s your report from Blizzard Central aka the DC metro area. The local NBC station is asking people to send in names for the storm … d’oh!

Hope everyone stays warm and safe.

There’s about 6 inches of snow here this morning. I managed to somewhat clean off my car and shovel about half the driveway so far after I took the dog out. Fortunately at some point during the night, TVMan had shoveled a path to the garage, otherwise, the snow would have been too tall for Bubba to do his business.

Now, I’m just sitting here thawing out some before I make breakfast.

It’s amazing to see all of the technology-enabled fund-raising initiatives that we’re seeing in reaction to the earthquake in Haiti. Came across an interesting one via twitter: 27 food bloggers got together to produce a cookbook. Someone had the idea on the 14th and the book was published on the 3rd. Here’s a blog entry about it.

Hope everyone’s staying safe and electricity is on everywhere.

Looks like we got another 3 or so inches of snow overnight. Shrubs are weighted down again. Current forecast says only another 1/2 inch to go.

Awake. Guess I’ll find some breakfast and caffeine and think about how to spend the day… Gotta go clear snow eventually…

Happy Saturday, everyone.

Hugs.

I HATE SNOW!!! We haven’t gotten quite as much as was threatened, and I think the worst is passed, but it’s still too frikken much snow!! It’s still coming down, but small eensy flakes, so it’s not accumulating as fast. And we obviously still have power, which is the biggie.

Daughter called from Orlando - apperently there’s a great bright ball of fire in the sky sending warmth to those below. What a concept!!!

I’m going to do some cooking this morning, then we’ll put together my slab roller. If the snow stops, I’ll go out and fling a few shovels full. If I do a little at a time, we may be dug out in time for work on Monday.

Incidentally, did I mention that I hate snow??

Hope everybody in the snow keeps their power. It is cool but sunny here. I am about to head to the sto’ for foods and stuff. Stay safe!

so the big threat of 6"-8" turned out to be a mere dusting on streets, sidewalks, and cars. the lawns remain unglazed

It’s snowing again here, but it’s supposed to stop in the next hour or so.

I’m having a button-sewing party. I’ve re-sewn all the buttons on one coat. Sewn one button back onto another and am in the process of replacing all the buttons on coat 3.

After this, I’ll be heading out to shovel.

Envy me.

First load in the washer. Dishwasher emptied and reloaded. Sketty sauce thawing for lasagna. Shoveled the dog pee/poo area - lots smaller than it was 2 days ago. I’m now enjoying a slice of carrot cake. It claims to have cream cheese frosting, but it sure tastes like butter cream to me.

I’m going to build a lasagna after I make a big batch of sloppy joes. Once the cooking is done, we’ll head to the basement to put together my new toy. Miss Cleo will probably enjoy the company.

Just looked out the window - the wind has picked up and it looks almost like white-out conditions.

Stoopit snow.
