Well, since we need a new MMP...

There’s an old saying comes to mind: ‘trump happens’

Hope littlest nephew is just fine now.

WhenI built my current desktop, over 10 years ago now, I stuffed it all into a gaming rig. Not because I’m a gamer. I’m not, but because the box I bought had three big fans and 8 (or 10, I forget) USB ports on it. Four on the front panel.

Got a letter from Toyota about the airbag in the Scion last month. It directed me to go to their website and put in my VIN to see if my car was affected. I did, and it said that they couldn’t find any record of my vehicle. Apparently I have a ghost vehicle. Next time I take it in for service I’ll have to ask the guys there if they can find out anything about it.

All I know is that a couple of weeks ago I was able to buy stuffs off of Ebay, and then I wasn’t. See above. I checked that my credit card info was still valid. It was. Something changed on their end. Screw’m!

Did a little shopping at Staples, a new toner and some paper for the printer, and then ate lunch at Steak and Shake, where service was just slightly faster than a glacier, and then to home. Tired despite all the sleep I got, and not looking forward to the soccer this afternoon, but I’m in charge so I have to be there.

Dropped off my car for service - Skip said I’d had most of what Hyundai recommended taken care of, so yay! I may not need tires till next time - we shall see.

**FCD **had a big lunch, so he doesn’t want supper. I told the kids they’re on their own. Now I gotta figure out what I want. I’s hongree!!!

Howdy Y’all! Been a bzzzy bear today. Finished spiffin’ da cave, got laundry done (OK some shirts need to be ironed, but they are clean), got stuff down from the attic (people are comin’ to suck out the old insulation and put in some more tomorrow), made sup which got et, and had to make a trip over to the church house that was completely unnecessary. Why two grown ass adults could not figure out the smell in the church kitchen was comin’ from a trash can is beyond me. :dubious: I figured it out first thing.

Nava glad littlest nephew is doin’ well. Boo on dead old laptop, but yay for new fancy schmancy laptop.

butters, we get the Blue Angels every third year too. In between, we have a year with no air show and one with the Thunderbirds.

Happy cake and ice cream day birdnapper!

bumba, Toyota got my Yaris in within two weeks of the recall (damn good thing too, since it went off when I totalled it  ). My manager drove rentals for five months before GM finished the recall on her Saturn.

Glad your nephew is doing well nava. He should be up and running around soon.

I irked an extra hour this afternoon and will for the rest of the week. I’m checking to see if the dog walker can come in around lunch Friday if it looks like I’ll be too late. Right now? He’s being a pest by bring his rope toy for me to throw. :stuck_out_tongue:

Home early because work was early today. A bit miffed - I was asked to provide cool camera angles of cars crashing into trailers showing how protective skirts prevent serious injuries when having an accident with a tractor trailer. Had GoPros in the cars, high overhead shots - nothing was aired. Something about not knowing where the video was, even though I emailed 4.5 hrs before airtime and nobody reached out to ask where it was (it was in the folder all raw video is supposed to go…)

Extra aggravating because I don’t shoot much any more. My supervisor left 6 months ago and after much waiting I am officially in management now. I’ll tell you in a year if I like it.

Early tomorrow for a DWI trial - witness not defendant. Second hearing, hopefully the last.

Nuts good luck on the job. Unsolicited recommendations always bring a smile.

Boo Fae good luck with Mom!

Later y’all. I’m on old people sleep schedule now.

Russian submarine infested with raccoons.
What the hell are they eating, borsch?
All raccoons are equal, but some raccoons are more equal than others.

The latest report has him building trains for all he’s worth and asking when will he go back to school.

Paypal is one of those companies which have problems with the concept of “moving to a different country”; also, their account creation procedures for Spain are incompatible with how my banks work. I get the impression that whomever designs their processes doesn’t really consider how those need to fit with other stuff.

well glad I was corrected on the PayPal thing …. sometimes I’m a fountain of misinformation ….nava to see if its a true gaming rig get a cool game called “subnautica” if it runs that well its a gaming rig …. and the games cool as hell too ……

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 51 Amurrkin out and clear (dark, actually) with a predicted high of 67 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. It also rained a bunch overnight. The insulation folks will be here around seven-thirty this mornin’. They said they’d be done in about two hours. We shall see. I shall also lay in provisions at some point and make a buncha chikin sallit sammiches for tonight’s soup ‘n sammich over to the church house. Still have a little grrrrr about havin’ to go over to the church house yestiddy because of some stinky garbage. I shall, however, get myself over that.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

lol swampy im goin to bed ……. night

but its a quart to 3 here

Thanks for the job wishes- I’m really hoping it does work out, I’ll be finding out more next week. In the meantime, I need to make sure I’m ahead with assignment stuff 'cos if I do get it, it might wind up cutting out a lot of the time I currently use for that sort of thing, at least for a while.

Glad to hear the nephew’s doing fine Nava. Have you managed to dodge getting a nickname in here?

Flytrap, that article needed better pictures, preferably of piratical raccoons attempting to actually sail the thing.

Apparently, my name is short enough that it serves as its own nickname. It’s a nice contrast to my irl situation, where I never know how my name will fare between one document and the next…

My next visit there will be for the 105k timing belt and much more crap that costs a bunch. I'm getting it done because I broke a belt once on a Ford Escort; didn't lunch the motor but I know when not to stretch my luck. Other than that down the page and adulting.

I’m crabby and work sucks. That is all.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a chilly 37 degrees outside, but the sun is shining so that is good.

Got Ripple off to day care, the load in the dryer just finished, as did the one in the washer. I’ll hang those on the drying rack and wash the last load. Maybe, it’s only a few shirts. It’s nice to have everything clean, but I hate doing partial loads.

I hope to get a mess of yard irk done today. There is so much to do.

Bah.

Had 60 9 year-olds on a soccer field yesterday, had to move at literally the last minute (they closed the field I was going to use), had three new coaches turn up out of nowhere, so have to recalibrate teams again, and am arguing with the scheduler about practice fields.

For an old guy who doesn’t even have a kid involved in soccer, this is sure a lot of irk…

Still, it does get me out of the house.

47F and only due to get to 60F today. At least it is N.O.S. outside.

Everybody take care now. Need to get dressed and head to my sanctuary (the library) to do some more soccer stuff.

[Samuel L. Jackson voice]I have had it with these mother-fucking raccoons on this mother-fucking submarine![/SLJV]

Poor child; get him help immediately!

Having worked in international banking I know that people just assume that the world is like ‘us’ wherever ‘us’ is. Even things like different holidays or different business days don’t pop unless you’re tuned in to think about them. Try setting up accounts in a country that primarily uses four names when you system was designed for a country that primarily uses three names (first, middle, last). :smack:
With you’re international experience, Nava, I know I’m preaching to the choir.

Afternoon tea?
& yeay for Swampy being an olfactory expert. :stuck_out_tongue:

Blurfage Irk sucks and i am crabby too Juliet.

Hey - I’m late!! **FCD **and I had to run some errands this morning, then I helped him put up the plywood sheet where the electrical box will be mounted. Since then, I"ve had Roxy duty. She’s walking in circles around the ottoman, so I have a minute to post.

My car does need new tires, and a serpentine belt, and something else, all to the tune of something over $900. Rah.

Happy Wednesday! :stuck_out_tongue:
