Well, that's the most dodgy-looking logo I think I've ever seen in the wild...

Whether it’s your mouth, anus, or vagina, our meat sausage will hit the spot!

Okay… Someone needs to stop me…

Just perfect nestling between our soft white buns.

There ya go!

Thanks for being creative.

That gives a new meaning to “sausagefest.”

Most logos like this are designed by someone in the business owner’s family, and it’s a combination of no artistic/business judgment, “good enough” (especially for the price) and not wanting to offend a “talented” daughter/niece/wife/SIL.

Far too many businesses don’t understand the importance of a logo and image, thus don’t understand how a bad one can hurt them. That’s for the ones that don’t actively disdain the notion that they even need a logo or image or anything but their name in Algerian or Comic Sans on a plain white board.

Well… the name Schweddy was already in use elsewhere.

I think you win.

You’re right. I reckon the best thing here would be to further humanise the little sausage man - maybe by adding some recognisably German garb - perhaps a nice hat, like this one.

Mangetout.

Clearly, I picked an impractical username. Maybe I should tell people it’s Man, Get Out (half of them think that anyway).

Maaybe, but I don’t think this applies to Herman ze German - it’s located in two majorly busy, expensive central London locations. Their food is well-received and very popular. I’ve been aware of it for a while. Unlike some other independent businesses in Villiers St, it hasn’t had to close down due to the rental expense.

I also dislike the sexist implications of your post - those pesky female relatives, always needing to be indulged! It’s not as if any of them could be business owners themselves!

I wouldn’t be surprised if the logo was completely deliberate.

The company founders (a man/woman team incidentally) started selling their wares at a local Brighton pub, then music festivals, and now outlets in central London (the latest in Soho).

All of these locales have a young, hip, urban, and in the case of Brighton and Soho, a strong gay demographic who would undoubtedly get the nudge-nudge wink-wink nature of the logo.

With that in mind I’d say it was a pretty good logo as opposed to one created by the “little ladies”

So… those female relatives like the sausage, eh?

Shame “Have it your way” was already taken.

NoClueBoy, I’ll stop if you will

Sure, that’s the wurst I’ve got, anyways.

I never sausage an awful logo.

Can I be frank? I relish threads like this.

I’ll never ketchup to all these puns.

In about 30 years, I’ve run into maybe 10 business owners who designed their own logos. All were men.

In that time, I’ve dealt with 100-150 small businesses whose logo or name-logo or image was designed by that family member. All those I can remember were wives, daughters, nieces, aunts or “cousins” - all female, can’t bring a male example to mind.

There may well be something sexist here, but it ain’t me.
