Maybe instead of calling people bitches and claiming that someone is ignorant about America, you could actually, you know, point out why they’re wrong.
I might be over-analyzing things here – I do that sometimes – but this thread seems to have struck a nerve with you. Out of curiosity: were you one of the protesters yesterday? I’m honestly not asking to yank your chain - just asking.
The problem is they do have “answers”. Those answers are rooted in their prejudice, of course. We’re talking about the same idiots that believe President Obama was born in Kenya, is a “secret Muslim”, and a host of other nonsense.
One of my FBFs attended as a spectator yesterday, and took a picture of the “rally”. Let’s just say the police officers outnumbered the “anti-Sharia protesters”.
I tried to look up the phone number I’m supposed to call for violence, but I can’t find it. Is it an SMS thing? Or maybe something online? I’m as confused by the “leftists call for violence” as Trumpeters wield firearms outside a mosque as I am by Will Farnaby apparently being a badass on the internet.
Hell no. The only thing I took issue with was when the guy said he wanted to lock up (more accurately he wanted stronger, braver people to lock up) the peaceful redneck protestors. You wouldn’t catch me on either side of these ridiculous protests. Statists act like tough guys. This guy happened to be a bitch.
Is your gender “bitch”? I don’t spend much time in elitist white America. Your concern is obviously from that bizarre Puritanical vein of American society. Women are scarcely offended when you call a man a bitch outside your type of people.
You’re apparently easily confused. Also characteristic of leftists. My badassery pales in comparison to the leftists in the thread who are keyed up to punch Trump supporters and lock up elderly men with rifles. Or have someone else do it.
Who the fuck are you to decide what and when something bothers me? If you are trying to argue that there is no gender implied in the word bitch, then i imagine you can make that same argument for other words that have an implicit meaning coupled with the explicit.
And the word puritanical is far from applying to me, trust me on that. Nor am i am elitist. As i said, i am just fucking tired of men applying a derogatory word for woman as some kind of cutting insult.
So - white people who openly carry guns, but don’t use them are evil, but muslims who stab innocents with knives (or muslims who don’t find it within themselves to condemn other muslims who stab innocents with knives) are OK???
Yes. Language evolves. Who are you to decide what I am implying with my speech? I guess “pussy” has no gender implication. That’s why you saw fit to attack my use of “bitch” and not the tough guy’s use of “pussy”. It had nothing to do with how his politics of violence are much closer to your own.
I don’t know anything about your politics other than what I can infer from this exchange. You are in fact behaving like a white elitist puritanical progressive. You are trying to police speech in a conversation you are not involved in.
If there is anything you can infer from the statements you quoted it is that I believe casual calls for violence should be accompanied with skin-in-the-game. You don’t sit on your throne and call for people to be locked up with a flick of your wrist. Especially when as an elite white liberal you have no chance of state violence ever being used against you.
Except it’s not a troll. It’s not ironic. It immediately becomes self-referential and a *bona fide *symbol of hatred. Kind of like the “ok” sign - a 4chan group trolled a journalist telling her it was a white power sign, which they dutifully reported, at which point the alt-right had a good guffaw at them credulous libs… and now they *do *use that OK sign as an in-group white power sign in earnest. It’s become a badge of belonging and hating non-whites.
Same goes for kek or pepe. While their existence as an innocuous meme (even a trolly one) might have been valid for about 20 seconds in the Marianas trench, they exist now as de facto alt-right symbols with all of the deplorable that carries. Turns out, there’s not much practical difference between an honest to goodness Nazi, a guy who pretends to be a Nazi and does Nazi things “ironically” every day, and an honest to goodness Nazi pretending to be a guy who pretends to be a Nazi and does Nazi things all day long “ironically”.
