Two cards (one funny, one sweet), an MMA book by Randy Couture, a book about Bruce Lee, and three martial arts magazines. She knows me so well.
Nice. The two of you make a perfectly logical union.
I’m making my SO wait… only because we spent most of last night together and I didnt get up early enough to get everything together and ready by time he got out of the shower… he did leave me a box of candy, card (with the MASH theme! * ), and a Taste of Home Irish recipe book!
I’m taking my youngest out for dinner (this is an accomplishment in itself because this teenager HATES to go out to eat if it isnt a drive-thru!) so I’m hoping the SO will join us =)
Daww, he just stopped by the library and gave me some flowers. So I got a Taser and sunflowers.
My buddy’s wife sent me a card. That is all.
At work today, the delivery lady dropped off a dozen red roses, and after work I was given a very nice card and then, ten bags of Hershey’s Kisses, for the ten years of kisses since our very first Valentine’s Day.
I got three Happy Valentine’s Day phone messages.
One from my mom, one from my girlfriend in Virginia, and one from a weird guy I used to know in theater who apparently never lost my phone number and who I haven’t heard from in like 15 years. I have no idea what made him call me now. Anyhow, he’s harmless. Just gently loony, and I do appreciate the thought.
For Valentine’s Day I am giving myself the day off tomorrow and a rare carbolicious piece of quiche tonight for dinner. I will also open the card my parents sent me… I waited until today to open it. Yeah, I’m goin’ nutz tonight.
I got my wife a puppy! We’re bringing him home from the animal shelter tomorrow, because he has to stay and get his medical evaluation and his testicals knifed before the shelter gives him up.
Chocolates and Jelly Bellies, and dinner out at a very nice Mediterranean restaurant.
The funny thing is, I got him Jelly Bellies too. And he liked the flowers.
So where’s the mandatory photo, Mosier? Huh? Huh?
We were going to go out to dinner last night, to a place nearby that has the very best crab cakes in the whole world, let alone Maryland, but I ended up swamped with so much work I just couldn’t spare the time. So we decided we wouldn’t do anything.
Except I lied. I got Papa Tiger some of his favorite dried unsweetened cherries – he adores dried cherries and cranberries, but being diabetic he has to avoid the vast majority of them since they’re usually so heavily sweetened. So I got something unsweet for my sweetheart!
I got upgraded to First Class on trips to & from Minneapolis today. Whoo hoo!!
I gave my wife her favorite candy (Ethel M Raspberry Creams in Milk Chocolate ) and a card last night.
I had to split it up, as I’m working tonite, and won’t get home until the wee hours.
I got her a jewlery box, some chocolates, the 25th Anniversayr DVD for Dark Crystal, and today she woke up to a single rose, more chololates (turns out the ones I got for her before were crap) and a diet whild cherry pepsi.
She says I can spend $50 on whatever I want. hehehehe…
She is wracked with guilt. I keep telling her to get over it, but she don’t listen to well.
I got a muffin from Dunkin Donuts.
Well, an e-card also. My girlfriend is from Beijing and this is her first year in America, so V-day is not really so big for her. I’m kinda glad, because I like being romantic but not a huge fan of the stress over “omg will she like it?” and such things.
My husband has been wonderful lately as I’ve been going through some cat-related grief so I didn’t really expect anything when he came into town last night. (He usually only comes home on weekends as he works in another town.)
I decided to surprise him with a pork roast. He surprised me with a flowering plant of some sort (I can’t recall the name, I keep calling it a “Caligula”), a nice cat figurine & a very sweet card stuffed with money. I’m a plant killer so we laughed over that one but he thought it was pretty and wanted me to at least try. The money is supposed to be for books but I think I’ll spoil myself with a pedicure after work.
After dinner we went out for dessert at a nice restaurant then he had to go to the hospital for an overnight sleep study. Before he went into the study, he sent my phone a sweet video AND when he was released this morning, he showed up with Starbucks instead of just heading back to the jobsite.
Yeah, he outdid himself this year.
Tomorrow is our anniversary (happy Lupercallia!) and I’ll be heading up to his neck of the woods for a nice dinner. I can’t afford to spoil him as much but he got a SCA-related t-shirt and I had some custom mugs made for our anniversary.
(And I will ALSO be expecting puppy photos from Mosier.)
A couple of years ago, I came to terms with the fact that Mister Moron will never be ‘good at’ Valentine’s day. It was a little epiphany, and henceforth I have been entirely okay with getting nothing from him but a big hug and lots of "I love you"s on Feb. 14th.
I, however, love to give gifts, so I get him and our son V-day gifts and cards.
This year I gave the huz some Ghirardelli chocolates and the Christopher Walken shirt from here. And he got cards from me and both kids.
Our son got the book Olive My Love, plush kissing dogs, a kaleidescope, and some MnMs.
The baby got lots of kisses.
We did exactly what we’ve done for the previous 24 Valentine’s days of our married life - nothing. And we like it that way.
OK, we did go out to eat, but that’s just because I didn’t feel like cooking and he wanted ribs. For us, V-day is a non event.
I have to retract this. He felt so warm and fuzzy over the card that he gave me 6 lavendar roses and a box of chocolates.
oops
He got me a corset – this one, in red. It looks divine and is the first one I’ve ever had. I got him a charging valet. It’s a walnut box to empty his pockets into at night, and has four charging stations on top of it for cell phone, Ipod, etc.
We don’t really do valentines day, but he changed my screen saver to a cute picture of the heavy from Team Fortress that says “My heart is heavy without you.”
I guess I’m his medic.
