He might have been lying to get the soldiers to fight and the people to support the war but at least we know what the German soldiers were thinking when they were fighting. They weren’t thinking that they were trying to take over the world. They were, maybe mistakenly, thinking that they were righting old wrongs and defending their territory.

I read this on-line book of Hitlers a while back.

Here’s an excerpt from chapter 2 worth noting.

It sounds pretty fascist to me.

Who knows how much truth there is in those videos. We’d have to go to those parts of the world and talk to some elderly people to verify the info. I think it’s safe to think the official version that Americans learn is pretty distorted though.

Let me make clear that I haven’t taken a firm stand on all of this. I’m just posting it so that it can be discussed. Let’s not have any blind patriotic dogmatism. We already know that the version of world events that Americans learn is pretty much distorted. In a lot of issues it’s upside-down as the info in this thread shows.

The problem is that you keep on posting a bunch of links and make it so that no one wants to read your OP. What would be better is if you maybe posted a couple of links as citations, and started off with advocating a position and giving a description of the issue at hand in a few paragraphs in your own words. Go check out some GD threads; look at the kinds of OP’s people post there.

Just stop posting a bunch of links and actually state your opinion and the issue you’re discussing in your own words.

To the OP: this is a message board. It is a place that we visit to have discussions in the medium of the typed word. Massive OPs consisting of little but links to youtube videos are treated with justifiable scorn here. Responses to questions or arguments that are simply links to youtube will be treated the same way. If that’s all you’ve got, get lost. You are not wanted here.

This is a list of some of the tactics that government disinfo agents use.

There’s a tactic that’s not on that list. They try to fill up the thread with BS and trash posts to make the additional info posted by serious posters harder for the viewers to come across. The way to thwart that tactic is to post all of the important info in post #1. That way they can’t bury it to keep the viewers from seeing it.

The issues in the videos ARE empty rhetoric. You HAVE taken a firm stand – one of your citations is from nazi.org.uk, for crying out loud, and two of them are Adolf Hitler making propaganda speeches. * No one*, not Hitler himself, not even you, could think those are unbiased sources.
