**Posting **in the thread doesn’t break any rules. Openly claiming your role in a public forum does, in my opinion. There’s a reason that the “Forbidden Thread” is forbidden; we don’t want players in the game getting information from any source other than *this *thread (and the Mafia board). Posting “I’m a townie” in a place where anyone playing this game might stumble upon it is clearly frowned upon. It’s providing information outside of “approved channels”.
How is it any more or less believable than if Gadarene posted the same thing here? In fact, I’m fairly sure that he has posted the same thing here. He probably figured it was a moot point anyway.
I apologize for what part of that is mine–probably a non-insignificant fraction–but I’m quite sure after another game day or two, the posting speed will drop quickly.
One idea I had at the gym was we could make a seperate summary thread; no commentary, no scheming just stuff along the lines of “vote count update” or “so and so claimed such and such”. That way for the people that are less able to keep up, they can read just a few posts and be right up to speed, or at least just need to skim the thread instead of a full analysis.
On another note, it looks like I have two plans at about even votes (I haven’t had a chance to count.
Plan 1: No matter how Gadarene turns out, kill Winston Smith.
Plan 2: If Gadarene is scum, kill Queuing, if he’s townie, kill Winston Smith.
I’m perfectly fine with either plan, but I do have a slight preference for plan one. Either way, I’m going to try to count up the votes for each plan. Give me some time to do so.
3 votes for Plan 1: Rysto, JSexton, Suburban Plankton (?)
4 votes for Plan 2: nesta, glee, Queuing(?), Menocchio
Okay, these are my counts, assuming Subburban Plankton is more in favor of plan one because he doesn’t like the conditional, and Queuing is more in favor of plan 2. In that case, it looks like I’m going to go with Plan 2 unless at least two votes come in to swing it the other way.
I am sure I read them before and understand them, but do you mind recapping what Plan1 and Plan2 are again? It’s about who you kill if who we lynch turns out what way, right?
How bout a recap on the plans?
They were in the post immediately above, but here you go:
And I forgot to count my own preference, so I’m updating the vote count to a 4-4 tie:
3 votes for Plan 1: Rysto, JSexton, Blaster Master, Suburban Plankton (?)
4 votes for Plan 2: nesta, glee, Queuing(?), Menocchio
Sorry,I see them now.I don’t think it is gonna matter cause I have my doubts that Gad is scum so Winston is gonna get it either way.
Oops, I quoted the wrong post, here’s the correct quote:
See Post 1544 for the recap.
I’ll vote for Plan 2.
Goodness, that post was a complete failure, it’s fixed above.
MtS, no preference at all?
Well. Some… things have happened since I was here last. Masons and contingency plans and… oh, my. I’m obviously posting way too close to the deadline for anything I say to have much impact, but as I am fairly comfortable with the belief that Queuing is town, I’d cast my vote for Blaster Master plan 1, if it’s a choice between those two options.
You know, Plan 1 does have a certain simplicity. I mistrust Q, but let’s give him more time to defend himself. Switch me to Plan 1.
I thought the point of both plans was to provide a semi-certainty of BM’s claim. How does Plan 1 do this? I’m probably missing something.
Anyway, I vote for Plan 2.
I like the idea of the conditional rather than just one. I pick plan 2.
I think G is town too, and placed my vote for him to try and get some information from his death as to allegiances. That being said, I’m going to vote for plan 2, because I don’t think it matters anyway.
You forgot to get in charachter!!!
Not that it matters much, but at least on a single reading of today’s posts, it sounds like Queuing is town. So Unvote Queuing.
Trying to think this through, with way too many posts and counter posts whirring in my head, it seems to me that the telling point is that Gadarene was relatively calm when Q was the designated ‘test lynch’ and much less so when G got the role.
Which could be ordinary ‘hey, my neck’s in danger of being stretched’ reaction, but it also fits perfectly if G is in fact mafia and Q town.
As mafia, G would know that Q isn’t. Which means he knew that Q would be declared town, and not only would G be safe from being the designated BM target this night, but it would give him a great gloss of townishness, too, in a lot of minds.
In contrast, if G was town, he couldn’t be sure if Q was or not. Thus he would naturally fear being killed mistakenly for Q’s guilt.
(Is that right? Rereads. Okay.) So an innocent G should have been more worried about Q being the test lynchee, while a scum G could have smugly sat back and awaited all sorts of good things: the lynching of another townie, his own safety, a burnishing of his rep.
I think G’s posts today fit the scum pattern better than the town one. So lynch Gadarene. (Yeah, like that vote matters now.)
Finally, it seems like I’m really getting sold on Queuing being innocent. I’m probably wrong, again, but that’s how I feel right now. So I’d rather not have Q killed.
BM, I vote that you don’t kill Queuing. I really don’t know who your victim should be – I keep flip flopping on who I suspect most – but right now I suspect Q least of just about everyone, so consider this a vote for whatever the leading non-Q designee is.
Shoot. I forget what color that is supposed to be. Orange? Green?
Whatever.
Good night.
7 votes for Plan 1: Rysto, JSexton, Blaster Master, Suburban Plankton (?), storyteller0910, Pleonast, StarvingButStrong
7 votes for Plan 2: nesta, glee, Queuing(?), Menocchio, Autolycus, pimaspinner, Pygmy Rugger
3 1/2 hours to the lynching, I suppose if it’s even in voting, I’ll exercise my preference, which is Plan 1.
Just in case Gad turns out to be scum.I will cast a vote for Plan 2.
