*Dawn breaks on Doperville. After another unfortunate lynching of an innocent, the town is dejected. Most go to the bar and promptly get so drunk they pass out, and morning seems to arrive in a matter of minutes. No one is looking forward to the morning, today seems like it will be a bad day.
Winston Smith stumbles out of the bar, unusually quiet for this time of day. He walks to the pier, his favorite spot in town, and spends some time contemplating life. He knows he doesn’t have much time left. That was the deal after all. 20 minutes later, Winston is found dangling from the edge of the pier, a rope tied around his neck. He is dead.
Later, nesta is seen leaving the old Masonic lodge. The masons haven’t used it for years of course, now they meet in an abandoned shack on the outskirts of town. Nesta was heading home after a long night of work, but never arrived.*
