Have too.
I thought that at first too, but maybe they’ve decided that they’re willing to sacrifice one of their own to avoid calling any attention to themselves.
So, can we or can we not both vote and unvote for two different people at the same time? I just want to be clear.
It wasn’t me who said that - but you bring up a great point. I’m so focused on the Testerizer that I’m forgetting the point of the game (at a macro-level), which is to kill the wolves.
The question is - what is more valuable:
a) testing/lynching someone to get us some data (and my vote for **november **is basically, we’re getting other data on the rest of the game via posts, but none from november, so let’s get some unadulterated data and then move from there.)
b) killing what may have a slight propensity towards lycanthropism (lycanthropy?), based on the fact there is no defending of lurker-dom.
Still - not changing my vote.
…because, if so, then I think November’s counts should be 8 and 4, not 9 and 5. I think.
You never voted for November in the first place…unless I’m missing something.
I unvoted for him when I voted for SoT&B. That’s why I think he should have one less vote for both testing and lynching.
Do you think Seeker’s case on me has any validity? I think I was pretty clear on my reasons for voting for them – if they had made a similarly fabricated case against anyone else, I would have reacted the same way. And I will in the future – one of the things that has been a pretty good scum tell in the past is to ‘smudge’: try to stir up bad feeling against another player with vague indication and smears, but then not actually end up voting for them. ‘Smudging’ is scummy because it creates a feeling of suspicion about a player, but doesn’t leave a voting record behind at the end of a Day that people will have to account for as the game continues.
I think november’s continued silence is a decent indication that they are a true lurker, in other words, not checking the thread at all. I agree with those who have said wolves are more likely to jump, when they start having votes piled on them.
Oh, I get it. Unvote means you just change your vote. Okay, I thought you could vote for someone and also take a vote away from someone else. Just ignore me.
Where does rexnervous say that?
Answered in post 243
Short form - I didn’t say that, but someone else did (don’t remember who). Simply a mis-quote
Ah. Okay.

Will we get new threads for each Day/Night after this one?
As long as you have a reason, I don’t care. Poor strategy is potentially anti-town but it is not necessarily pro-scum. What’s your reasoning for your votes?
I think this is about normal for a day one. A few other points, in no particular order:
-
Especially on Day One, “lynch the lurker” and “don’t lynch the lurker it doesn’t give as much info” are both pretty much null tells.
1a) Strategic disagreements are not prima fascie scummy. -
There is a difference between anti-town and pro-scum play.
2a) As a town, we need to punish the former and absolutely lynch for the latter.
That’s pretty much all I’ve got at this point. It’s my feeling that lynch-the-lurker is ambivalent strategy at this point, not explaining your votes is unambiguously anti-town at all times, as is disagreement with a general town strategy without putting forth some points of contention for us to discuss. By the same token, posting a lot is not all that big a deal either way, in my opinion. OMGUS votes are also not that big a deal especially from new players–Because of the last two, I’m of the opinion that DaphneBlack and Seeker are pretty much putting forth null tells. Invalid math can be either anti-town or pro-scum, depending on whether it’s a newbie mistake or a scum playing dumb–I personally think it’s the best thing out there to go on so I’m voting Telcontar. Needless, perhaps, to say; because we as a town seem to have agreed on a test-the-scummiest-then-lynch strategy for the first few Days at least, I’ll be switching my vote to whomever we test.
Also, one more thing: Vote early, vote often. Last few games, scum have been withholding their votes until late in the Day so they can vote with the changing winds. Your vote carries more information about you if you vote early in the Day and honestly.
Hey yo lads, what’s doin’? Subbing in for Athena and I cannot decide whether this is the American West or if it’s the rolling green hills of the English/Irish/Scottish/what’s the difference countryside. Imagine the appropriate accent as necessary.
I’ve always felt ambivalent about voting for lurkers, as I see it as a random vote (not matter what rationales people come up with) and randomness favors our not-so-friendly invaders due to their fewer numbers. Nevertheless, barring some egregious mistake on the part of a werewolf, the vote’s bound to be random, and those with no posts also have provided no information, either way.
Test november
It’s early Wednesday, and there’s still a chance for the eleventh month to wander into the town square and start talking, so I’ll hold off on voting for now.
This sounds very very plausible, but I also want to offer an alternative explanation for voting later in the day, at least in the earliest days of the game. Some of us (um… me) want to be a bit more cautious about who we vote for, and… nevermind. I can always unvote and change my mind, no?
Vote november
But then another thought occurred to me. If voting late can be construed as a scum strategy, then why can’t changing one’s vote be construed in the same way, for the reasons Zeriel just outlined? Especially if it looks like you’re going along with the crowd? :smack:
Well, going along with the crowd by changing your vote is pretty pointless at the moment, isn’t it?
Seems like november is going to get testerized at least, and majority opinion holds that this means he is going to hang on friday.
So neither sticking to an alternate choice nor getting on his bandwagon can really tell us that much, since the wolves must know that the latter might be suspicious as well.
No.
Alright, november hasn’t even logged in since he signed up, so I’m going to sub him out if he doesn’t show up by the end of the Day.
Don’t know if this has been answered, but when do we test someone? What time today does the testerizing happen? Has it already been decided that it’s november?
Yes, sorry about that.
