Werewolf (Mafia)--The Split [Signups--In progress]

Oh yes, my vote stands:

Vote november

I stand by our philosophy of lynch/test coupling, and so my previous vote to lynch november remains unchanged.

As previously stated, this is the most information we can get today.

Yep, put me down for november too.

As I posted some time ago, the second color may signify something entirely different, like a power role (or lack thereof). I think there must be some level of complexity beyond just W/F/R, otherwise we could get lucky and figure it out early and it becomes potentially overpowering. On the flip side, too many variables and it becomes useless, since game will end before we’ve figured it out.

Is it

  C1 C2
W or T F or R or Null (for a W)

Or

    C1 C2
W or R or F Power Role / No Power Role (binary)

Or

    C1 C2
W or R or F Power Role Type / No Power Role (diff color for each power role)

Or

    C1 C2
W or R or F Something entirely different

Or

    C1 C2
W or R or F Random and meaningless

Keep in mind we also don’t know if the order the colors come out of the testerizer are significant or not.

If I did this right, this Google doc is sharable: https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=dchh6hf2_0fzgqznhb&hl=en. Let me know if you have problems viewing it.

This document is a table of the Testerizer results, the player tested, and the outcome if & when we know the true result.

I can’t open it, but I sent a request for permission.

Same here–I also sent a request for permission.

The colour coding could also be something like:

IF testee = wolf THEN
c1 = significant, c2 = random
ELSE
c1 = random, c2 = significant
END IF

Or maybe the order is entirely irrelevant.

It could also be something really bizarre, where no two wolves have any colours the same because their usernames are so different.

Just saying, even if we think we’ve cracked the code, we should always remember there is a chance we are completely wrong. But, if an apparent pattern does emerge, I will probably follow its chromatic wisdom.

So, as commonly agreed we need to figure out the test results…

I think Oredigger voted november as well, though he/she did it in red. It’s not super important, as it won’t change the results, but we may want to add the vote in case people want to go back and analyze vote patterns later.

I know. I’m not counting it because it’s ambiguous.

november (14): Lemur866, Jimmy Chitwood, rexnervous, Elendil’s Heir, AllWalker, Ichini Sanshigo, Seeker of Truth & Beauty, Scuba_Ben, Mahaloth, Daphne Black, fluiddruid, Zeriel, Justin Credible, [Undecided] Adrian

I did but apparently I need to add no posting at night to my no posting in the morning rule because I can’t seem to keep my thoughts straight. So to make it unanimous:

Vote november

Sorry about the confusion.

I think we need to start discussing who we’re going to test on Day 2 because other wise we will always have shorter discussion. As it stands by always lynching the test candidate, until a pattern is discovered, we will basically waste the last two days of each Day. On the other hand as has already been suggested if we run the Days Wednesday to Wednesday then we still get our full time.

For me I think a quick reread is in order.

Well, we certainly can start discussing now, but I think only the reveal who was eaten during the Night, on Sunday Evening, will kick off the real discussion.

If we try to take the scum kill into account and speculate about it before that, the wolves might use that to sow confusion with their decision, so I think that wouldn’t be helpful.

I also think we should lynch him, for the same reasons as everyone else.

I think we can talk about the next test as long as we’re responsible about it. Obviously we shouldn’t be saying “If the wolves do X we’re going to do Y,” but I think there’s something short of that which would at least be a little helpful to us in terms of advancing the discussion.

I have a couple of thoughts but I won’t put them out there yet if the consensus is that talking before the next day is a bad idea.

One thing, I’ve seen several people claim that the wolves would have defended November if November was a wolf. But I don’t think that’s the way a wolf would play it. You don’t defend a fellow wolf by defending him, you defend him by attacking other players. It would be pointless for the wolves to actively defend him because that’s way too obvious.

But I guess we’ll find out soon enough. It doesn’t make any sense to lynch anyone except November. He’s a dead player, but he’s got just as much of a chance of being assigned to be a wolf as anyone else.

So if he turns out wolf, then we take a good hard look at the people who vociferously argued for lynching someone else.

And I agree we should start some chatter on our next test candidate, and everyone should know that there’s no point in voting to test someone we aren’t going to lynch. So a vote to test should be a commitment to lynch, barring the possibility of one of the scum making an obvious tell.

I agree on “testee = lynchee” for time being, barring something unforeseen.

I’m not sure I agree on talking much prior to the Wolves’ first vote.

I see it as in information trade-off:

Talking now gives us more information that can be used later on, but gives the wolves’ an early opportunity to use that against us (which could create exponentially greater repercussions down the road)

Being mute until toMorrow forces the wolves’ to act on limited info, lessening IMHO their opportunity for confusion, at the cost of less information for us to compare/review in Days 2 and 3.
