Well, Seeker is either a wolf or a ridiculous player. A move like that(claiming to be a wolf) was just weird. I still have a feeling he/she is trying to protect Telcontar, but I can’t figure out why unless both are wolves.
lynch Seeker
Hm, I don’t appear to have voted.
vote Seeker
At this point I am not confident enough in any other candidate.
You mean the 3rd Night? How long have I been asleep?
Besides, I can prove my innocence. Last night I dreamt I was playing with a dog, and it bit me. See? Not a wolf.
I demand a public apology in cake form.

I admit I haven’t been able to put the time, gray cells or experience to use in this game that other players seem to have. But I’m not a lurker or a semi-lurker, I just have a lot of irons in the fire right now. Hell, I should be sleeping and not posting on the SDMB right now.
Still and all, I’ve heard nothing to dissuade me from suspecting Seeker, as I did when I cast my earlier vote, for the reasons stated by Mahaloth and Justin Credible and others. I have no reason at the moment to second-guess a strong consensus among other players. So…
lynch Seeker

Two things really jump out at me here. First of all you’re right that just because the majority thinks a person is scummy doesn’t make them scummy, you could just look back at the last two days. But if the majority of people find you suspicious you are the leading person to get tested. The second was what I was saying; I am not the next on the block you are because more people find you suspicious. All though I do think its interesting you’re working on building a case on me so far just by saying that I am the next to be looked at.
The second thing is that when Seeker turns up wolf the assumption that I am a wolf would have to take the logical leap that Seeker sacrificed himself to save another wolf, or cast suspicion on a townie, and I decided that I was going to sacrifice myself to try and save the sacrificial victim. You’ve got to be kidding me if you think that is even slightly likely.

Ok seriously dude, I realize that this lynch is a lock with the confession and every thing but since we’re going on you third vote without any reasons why don’t you talk about some other people besides the one you’re voting for so we can at least see a trend leading up to your next reasonless vote.
I forgot to check on this yesterday; below is my Role PM quoted (although I got it in email; apparently I didn’t have my PMs turned on.)
It’s far too late to save my soul, but there you go.
Damn Seeker you’re good. Look I can do both of the role PMs:
Man, did I miss the back-half of an interesting day yesterday (real-time, not game time). As I mentioned, I’m on vacation so am stealing time to read/post, and am going to semi-stream of consciousness post now w/o trying to dig up specific quotes.
Basically, I’m not seeing **Seeker **as scum. Maybe this game is being played at a Machiavellian level that I wasn’t expecting as a newbie, but like others here I see no conceivable way that his actions benefits the wolves directly (him being an insane townie does indirectly benefit the wolves).
But let’s think about it - we need to operate on the assumption that the game started 7/7/4. Even now, at 5/5/4, what possible reason would there be to sacrifice a wolf? We know there are no strong power roles. For them to go down to 5/5/3 just to cast suspicion on a different townie?
Now look at from our side - as **Daphne **stated we have very few mislynches left. Any townie alive - even an insane one - is a plus for us. We don’t have the luxury of lynching people just because they’re pissing us off.
I agree with **Oredigger **- 'tis better to keep **Seeker **around for a later time. So I would ask people to reconsider their lynch vote - if you truly believe Seeker is scum, then by all means vote for him. I can understand that. But if you are voting merely because it’s the popular thing to do (Elendil) or because you don’t like the insanity - is that the best vote? Really? All things considered?
More to come in a short bit…
A bit more…
So who would I vote for? I’m actually not convinced that we need to vote for anyone today. You may recall that I said that **Telcontar **raised my suspicions partially because of his no-lynch posts, but I also specifically stated that it was only Day 1 that I felt that strategy was severely misguided. Now that we know more about the Testerizer (and how little we actually know about it), I don’t think we must lynch someone.
First, my intuitions about the Testerizer:
I’m of the mind (don’t remember who first posted it) that it is likely the Testerizer is basically a Wolf-tester only, and will come up w/ in essence random colors for any townie, regardless of Rancher/Farmer alignment. So until we’ve positively identified a wolf, it’s not gong to tell us anything.
If - and a big if - **Seeker **is lynched and comes up wolf, then we’ve learned a ton. That (and killing a potential wolf) is a fantastic reason for lynching Seeker. But again, that’s only if he’s a wolf. If a townie, then we’ve learned nothing from the Testerizer and lost a townie. And as I stated before, I’m not convinced Seeker is a wolf. So for now, that’s why I’m not voting for **Seeker **to be lynched.
So who else? High on my list is **Telcontar **- you’ll notice that while he’s saying everyone is voting for him “because everyone else says he’s suspicious”, I laid out some specific reasons why he pinged my radar. And I voted for him - to be Tested. Not to be lynched (yet). Just because someone’s posts are pinging my radar doesn’t mean I think they’re a wolf. And I also take into account something **Daphne **said that I think is true - Telcontar’s got an arrogant attitude that rubs people wrong, myself included (it could be the way he’s decided to play himself as a wolf, but that’s too many layers for me to deal with right now). The combination of Tel’s pointed statements/arguments as well as his attitude definitely calls attention to himself, but that’s not a strong enough reason to say “he’s a wolf”. Yet. So for now I’m taking a step back on Telcontar.
But there’s another group that I find highly likely. I refer you to…
What’s funny about Daphne’s list is all 3 of them are also on my suspicious list. Two of which I pointed out in my post on page 17 (and **Zeriel **elsewhere), and the third (MHaye) I pointed out in a response to him (her?) that he yet again called out a specific alignment in a confusing and potentially suspicious manner.
I’m positive that one or two of these three is a wolf (not such a grand statement, since it’s odds-on that one of them would be). But I’d be putting our focus here.
Not going to vote yet, but I will in all likelihood vote for one of these three.
NETA
Forgot to wrap up what I started with…which is, I think we should discuss whether or not the town would benefit from **not **lynching toDay.
Lastly - sorry for the thread dump, but again I’m going to have limited posting ability, so it will come haphazardly for next couple of days (real-time)
Well, I can certainly see the benefit there, since, if Seeker is (now) telling the truth, we’ll be lynching another townie. But, what if we don’t lynch him, or anyone? We’ll never know, and we’ll have essentially wasted today’s test. Plus, I personally don’t believe that he is just an ordinary farmer.
But, I’ll think about it. I still have a day or so to change my vote.
I don’t think its time to not lynch. We’re only on Day 3 which is only the halfway point in that shortest possible game, in other words we are still gathering information.
What I don’t think we should do is have another unanimous vote for the scum to hide in, vote analysis is very important and is a good source of information. Other sources of information are looking through posts for inconsistencies in the ideas that put forth. Not necessarily people putting forth ‘bad’ ideas but people who are trying to play both sides of the fence or are always sitting on it.
Not lynching limits the information that we have and forces us to act toMarrow without any more information other then a night kill. We need to lynch still, the way we are going we are headed for a lylo situation and need to save the ability to wait a Day until then.
Why do you keep saying “toMarrow”? Is that an inside joke? A simple mispelling? Or is that how wolves refer to “toMorrow”?
I mean the Day after toDAy.
No, it’s a convention we use around here to distinguish meatspace time periods from Mafia ones.
The word “Day” (capitalised) means “this game day.” This may be ambiguous if the word starts a sentence. if it’s not capitalised, it means the real-word day.
So if I write “I’m going to have to wait until tomorrow to look at Today’s activity” it means that I’ll have to wait until the next real-life day to get at the action of the current game Day.
Simple really.
If I want to refer to the next game Day, I write “Tomorrow” (and not toMorrow, as some do, because that’s ugly.)
