Werewolf (Mafia)--The Split [Signups--In progress]

I think a likely scum slip is a likely scum slip, it only takes one. Or would you rather I spouted lots of useless verbiage rather than one precisely focused point.

I have a feeling that if we do test a wolf that it will likely fall into place.

Apparently I screwed up my coloring when I voted for MHaye so let me try that again.

Vote MHaye

I’ll leave the lynch vote in place because I don’t have a better candidate that’s receiving votes but I just wanted people to know it was unintentional.

Justin Credible (4): Telcontar, Mhaye, rexnervous, AllWalker
MHaye (4): Zeriel, Mahaloth, Justin Credible, Oredigger77
Mhaye (1): Oredigger77

Due to events beyond my control (class), the deadline for the Testerizer will be moved to 4:00 PM EDT. The lynch deadline will not change.

Fluiddruid, you still in this thing and gonna vote?

Jimmy? Gonna vote?

I’m not dedicated to testing MHaye and am willing to change my test vote to break a tie. Ummm…I think I will be able to check before 4:00 EDT, but don’t consider it scum if I don’t check in. I have to go to a funeral home for a co-worker later in the day.

I was a little surprised by this:

As we discussed up top, Mhaye’s voting last round was at least very likely pro town behavior.

Also, don’t anyone do something silly. Tie votes just result in a coin flip. This is undesirable, but not overly so. Now if Jimmy Chitwood and Fluiddruid would be kind enough to make an appearance…

What’s so bad about ties? Seriously, I just don’t get it. If you believe someone should be tested, vote for them. **pedescribe **would probably love it if we didn’t tie it, but if he has to flip a coin it isn’t the end of the world. The only people who should be saying “well this one is fine, or this one, or this one” are the wolves.

Well, but a clear vote is better than a tie, at any rate.

My vote was mostly intended to get MHaye involved, and he has done so, so I’m less committed to that avenue.

On the other hand, I think Justin’s candidacy for a test is pretty strong. He was suspected by who we know now were innocents. He hasn’t really taken any extremely pro-town positions. He’s been fairly passive. This in addition to what has been pointed out in the cases made above. One other thing that has been striking me but I couldn’t really put a name to until just now was the amount of times he has ‘climbed aboard’ with his votes. Sort of a “nothing to see here, just dropping the old ballot in the box.”

I don’t like it.

I don’t know what color I need to use to unvote an orange vote, so pedescribe, assuming my MHaye vote was invalid, I’m going to go ahead with

Test Justin Credible

I have no idea why you would be surprised by me wanting to test the person I was voting to lynch, if anything you should have been surprised to see I was voting to lynch without testing. I know I was.

I disagree that MHaye’s vote was likely pro-town. I understand what he’s said about being there to insure there was no tie but after he has spend the entire game avoiding the one scum we know about, while the rest of us interacted with EH, strikes me as scummy. At the very least I think it cancels out not voting.

I also don’t see the case about Justin so with a lack of other good choices I’m happy where I’m at.

Justin Credible (5): Telcontar, Mhaye, rexnervous, AllWalker, Jimmy Chitwood
MHaye (4): Zeriel, Mahaloth, Justin Credible, Oredigger77
Mhaye (1): Oredigger77

I didn’t say anything was bad about a tie for a test. I simply said that if people don’t want a tie, I’m willing to remove my vote since MHaye was not my top suspect.

TESTERIZATION RESULTS:

SUBJECT–JUSTIN CREDIBLE

COLORS:
YELLOW
PURPLE

There ya go.

Bloody hell.

OK, purple is a repeat of a Seeker result.
Yellow is I believe a repeat of nothing. So basically, we’ve learned nothing?

(Unrelated, but looking back over the thread, I noticed Seeker got banned!)

I’m not sure.

I long ago discarded the hypothesis that the actual colours meant anything, and have been playing around with various ideas regarding the length of the words and so on.

It’s just occurred to me that I might have been overcomplicating it, trying to make it tell us whether the player is farmer or rancher. We have investigators for that. What we don’t have is someone who can tell us who is Town and who is Werewolf. I think that’s what the Testerizer was put in place to do.

I looked at today’s result and one thing stood out. The test Today is the first where the colours have appeared in reverse alphabetical order.

The first three days.G - R : November, a Townie
A - T : Freudian Slit, a Townie
B - P : Seeker of Truth and Beauty, a TownieCould it be that simple? Townies have colours in alphabetical order, Werewolves in reverse alphabetical order?

We’d have to lynch Justin to find out. I need to think of the risks and benefits of that.

An ATMB thread identifies him as a sock.

The other game is the one with the problem; he’s still playing in there. (Sachertorte has noticed.)

Is a sock someone who re-registers as a guest or has multiple accounts or something like that?

Sock (from sock puppet) is someone who registers under multiple screen names. It’s an auto-ban offence, although if the sock posts acknowledging him- or her- self to be (some old name), the Mods usually allow them to merge the two accounts rather than ban them.

It’s people who hide the act that get banned when found.

And Telcontar’s test

B - G (Brown Green)

Of course, we don’t know Tel’s faction

That is the first truly useful data point I think we have. By Jove, you just may have done it.

Very good point. Staring out at the apparent randomness I began to think it would make much more sense for there to be one signal in there rather than two. Also pede’s assurance that november’s test result was appropriate for a farmer (even though pede had mistakenly thought him a rancher) suggests this might be true.

It’s not a bad thought. It’s the only pattern I currently see.

I’m always suspicious when things are fitting together a little too neatly. This isn’t a bad testerizer theory, but there’s no way to know how reliable it is. I really wish it hadn’t come from a suspicious player currently under threat. Still, I’m inclined to lynch Justin for the same reasons i wanted to test him. so until further notice:
lynch justin

what’s up with fluiddruid?

Justin Credible (1): Telcontar
Mhaye (1): Oredigger77
