Jeez, that trailer looks awesome!
Thanks for the heads up. Can’t wait!
What with the delays for the next seasons of GoT and Better Call Saul, this is much anticipated by the Mrs. and myself. Can’t get here too soon for us!!
I was beginning to think that there would be no sign of Eastworld, but there was that fraction of a second near the end.
It’s apparently ShogunWorld, not SamuraiWorld.
“It’s us or them.”
I’m glad to see that Tessa Thompson’s character apparently survived, and looking forward to Shogun World. I hope they delve deeper into the real reason the park’s investors are interested in “the i.p.” rather than the park as a property.
Stranger
It just came to me what would make Westworld possibly the perfect TV series–in this season we find that all the various themed areas are located on a Culture GSV.
Won’t happen, but it’d be great.
Either way I can’t wait to see it.

Well, that was fun!
Bernard seems a little stressed. But they’re not really letting him catch his breath and recover from the initial ordeal, are they?
Nice to see Maeve back with her boyfriend.
Can’t wait for next week!
So we have at least 2 timelines; one picking up right after last season’s massacre, & another picking up 2 weeks later. Also Delos has at least 6 other parks; one of which has Bengal tigers (so an India theme?). And it’s on the same island as Westworld, which is apparently Chinese territory. And if things weren’t horrifying enough it’s confirmed there are families in the (formerly) family friendly section of the park. Also I loved Lee almost being killed by a cannibal while being forced to listen to his own cringe inducing dialogue and eventually being forced to strip by Maeve. Who insults his manhood; also using his own dialogue.
Must be a pretty large island if the other parks are as sprawling as Westworld. But I hope we get to see Jungle World as well at some point in the future…
Boy-Ford seems to have grown taller. I suppose this is why they had to kill him off? Otherwise, I didn’t quite understand MiB’s motivation to do so.
I wonder if Hale’s secret outpost was known to Ford (who built everything).
I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.
The revolution seems to be led by Dolores, with Maeve having her own reasons for going back into the park. Have we seen these two characters ever interact to any significant extant? Have they ever met or are even aware of each other’s existence? I predict some major sparks flying when these two finally get together.
I see that the writers are sticking to non-linear storytelling. I’m glad that we only have to keep track of a two week period rather than a 30 year time span. Makes things less confusing.
I’m guessing that won’t last and it’s going to jump all over the place. The opening scene was with Arnold wasn’t it?
Exactly. When is that scene placed?
Presumably 30ish years ago.
I haven’t watched the first season since it aired. Can someone give me a refresher on “Wyatt”? Dolores mentioned that as another identity, but I don’t really remember that.
I’m confused. Are these alternate timelines? Or different points in the same timeline? Or two different Bernie-bots?
The opening scene was OG Arnold.
The rest of the show is split between “Just after the attack” and “two weeks after the attack.” It’s the same Bernard. For last season they basically said that when a host “remembers” something, they basically relive that moment. Bernard doesn’t really remember how he ended up on the beach because he’s basically living two different points in time.
“Wyatt” was the incomplete identity that Arnold originally uploaded into Dolores to cause her to massacre the hosts and kill him. Basically he spliced the character into her original programming. So you’ve got sweet farmer’s daughter personality mixed with murderous Civil War officer( who was both mentor and antagonist for poor, confused, lovesick Teddy ), now all amalgamated into a self-actualized whole.
Although I wouldn’t take an actor’s word for gospel when it comes to plot, Evan Rachel Wood discusses this some in an interview after last season.
And just to clarify, every other scene not featuring Bernard (so basically the Dolores and Maeve scenes) also take place shortly after the attack.
The writers very considerately arranged for later Bernard to lose his glasses the first time we see him. If you see Bernard without his glasses, that is two-weeks-later Bernard who seems to have forgotten what happened after the attack. If you see Bernard wearing glasses, that’s from shortly after the attack, who’s in the same timeline (we think) as Maeve and Dolores.
