Up headed to PT then to get a massive amount of paperwork notarised for the short sale closing tomorrow or Wednesday then I head to Arkansas for the week. Rah!
Is a waffle iron used to flatten them? The waffles I eat are normally all covered in bumps…
I’m goin’ to go try sign up for pottery classes today, or at least that’s the plan. Looks like they don’t really fill out though- there’s still spaces on the last session- so no rush. They always used to be crazy busy where I used to live; I was on the waitin’ list for over a year, and still didn’t get a place!
Sympathy to the hubby (can we call him Daaaaad?) FCM, I’ve been walking like an old man for 2 weeks, though it’s hopeully only temporary, and they’re not planning to operate- having it worse must be truly horrid. Is not so bad today, so I’m gettin’ all hopeful for the London trip I’ve got planned for next weekend- I was beginning to think I couldn’t go- but it turns out Kew Gardens will lend me a free scooter while I’m there. Ain’t that nice of them- though it does make me an official Old Lady at 28. If it’s only like this, I can cope with the amount of walking I’ll have to do- at least if I dose up woth the painkillers.
Maybe I’ll have to pass on the Christmas shopping, but that’s a good idea for my sanity anyway. Made that foolish mistake a few years back… shudder Oxford Rd on the last sattidy before Christmas. The crush was genuinely reaching dangerous levels.
Yesterday, despite strong winds, a migraine, barking dogs and my mare going frantic because her boyfriend wasn’t in the paddock with her, I rode my horse Irish. Now, that doesn’t sound all that exciting, except that I hadn’t ridden Irish in years. Considering he’s a TB he was good. We didn’t do much, and he threw a couple small bucks, but listened to me and kept calm.
My favorite sister is waiting for a diagnosis on what might be cancer. She’s had breast cancer and thyroid cancer, and was almost to her 5 year all-clear, when she found a strange nodule on her collar bone. She went in last week for a PET scan, but that was inconclusive. Now she has to have an MRI, and it’s another 3 weeks wait to see the oncologist. Please think good thoughts for her.

bobbio - Couldn’t you use those extra large ziplock bags they use for turkey brining to pickle your corned beef? (That sounds vaguely obscene).

Waffles should be topped with chocolate chips, whipped cream, and butter.
That is all.
The butter I agree with, but all the rest is just gilding the lily.
Off to run errands and do laundry/write the story I need to post tonight. It’s due by 8, so I need to get it done soonest.
Break time! I gathered most of the flowerpots I’ve made and transplanted stuff into them. I also divided another plant that was getting out of control - one part is sitting in my kitchen, and the rest are on a little table in front of the house with a sign that says “FREE PLANTS” - I hope people take them all.
I’ve still got a few more to deal with - one needs to be reseated in its planter, one needs to go onto a smaller pot, and I think one just needs to be tossed, since I clipped the good parts off and put them in another pot. Meanwhile, my breakfast bar is a disaster. Oh well… I can clean later.
I forgot about the sheets in the washer for a while, so when I swapped them out, I set the timer up here. Even tho the washer and dryer have end-of-cycle alarms, they’re just beeps and if you’re not close by, you won’t hear them. No biggie - I’m ready for the next load.
Lunch time. Then back to playing in dirt.
Howdy Y’all! Postin’ from da cave where I am at for N.O.L.. I’m eatin’ a bologna, cheese and mustard sammich. I don’t do bologna very often but today I had a gnawin’ and a cravin’. Plus I have a pot roast in the slow cocker and da cave smells nummy!
Tonight is Vestry meetin’ at the church house. We begin the process of a budget for the new year and officially name the nominatin’ committee for three new Vestry members whose terms will begin in January. Fun times! I already have a few names in mind to [del]strong arm[/del] ask if they’re willin’ to be nominated.
Germy good thoughts and prayers headed out to your sister.
Ashes[sup]2[/sup] waffles and bacon are (is?) one of my favorite dindins.
We got a stern look from Twicks!
Ok, need to finish up my sammich and get back to the irkplace.
Laterz!

Check out the first two photos here- I just took them a few minutes ago. I opened the house because it’s really nice out, and Taz was at the window, yowling. I looked out and there they were! Yesterday and earlier this morning, there was a flock of guinea fowl, but I didn’t have my camera handy. I live in birdland!!!
Rebo’s Pork Rub:
4 tablespoons brown sugar
4 tablespoons onion powder
4 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons dried thyme
4 tablespoons dried oregano
2 tablespoons mild paprika
2 tablespoons smoked paprika
2 teaspoons cayenne
2 teaspoons ground coriander
2 teaspoons ancho chili powder
2 teaspoons chipotle chili powder
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 tablespoons kosher salt
Good morning! Been bizzy in a meeting. I got a phone call that my car is ready! Yay! I’m tired of this rental. It’s uncomfortable, and it has a giant blind spot that makes me nervous.
Rosie’s sig to all…
Thanks Rebo! It looks nearly exactly like ‘mine’ which gives me confidence in the overall deliciousness of the ribs. Might be some tweaking will go on with the second half of the ribs. I’ll cut you in on a share of the millions I’ll make when I start selling it. Everbody; try it out, serious yum here.
So my cat Violet is wearing make-up. Not a bad look for her. It’s what happens around here-- Tansy opens drawers and cabinets, then Violet investigates. Sweet Pea the portly pug swoops in for any goodies that fall out. Snagged a whole bag of Dingo Bones that way, the stinker.
Okay* fine*, I’m going to the dentist. It’ll probably hurt because part of a filling fell off and she was talking about a crown over there anyway. Poop. ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)
Morni…afternoon all.
I was a good pygmy yesterday. I got my history homework done hours early. Then, instead of giving in to the pull of the lazies, I started working on my gov’t homework (4 weeks due at once - tuesday). I got everything for 3 weeks done all but the quiz for the 4th week done (I have to actually read the chapter first).
Today is a Nutrition day, first and foremost (which is why I’m having ginger ale and the Malt-o-Meal version of Crunch Berries - dry - for breakfast). Once my Nutrition is done, I have to finish my Gov’t.
Doggie class without the doggie tonight. This is an off week for the Terrible Iggy Dammit so he stays home and I go to observe the second set of doggies. Speaking of Iggy, he actually seems to like his sweater now. He stayed in it until 1am and when I tried to take it off him, he clasped it between his paws and wouldn’t let go.
Sweetie’s got another overnight tonight. The game this time is about 2.5 hours away from home in southern-western CT. He doesn’t know where exactly but based on the distance and the nearly ocean location, I suspect it’s somewheres around Hamden.
Oh well, I supposed I have to start on the homework. Rosie’s sig to all!!
I made waffles yesterday for breakfast. They were delicious but very pointy (I’m a Weight Watchers member and that means they had a lot of points). I probably should have eliminated the butter from the recipe but that’s what made them so delicious.
So today I’m trying to have a less pointy day. Happy Monday everyone!
P. S. just sponge down the waffle iron with a little warm soapy water and dry it with paper towels.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking it’d be fun to feed them. We did that at home one winter, putting corn out, and they turkeys totally tore up the yard. Even though it was Dad’s idea, he was Not Happy when spring came and the snow melted and the grass was all destroyed, leaving a big mud hole.
{{**StGermain **and your sister}}
We went to the orchestra on Friday. The only time I end up having to stay late at work on a Friday is when we’re going to the orchestra. Mondays and Tuesdays are the normal late days and Fridays are usually quiet and slow. But not the last three times we’ve been going to the orchestra. So then I’m rushed to get home, grab dinner, change clothes, and get downtown. Grrr.
Hugs for StGermain and prayers for your sister; good thoughts also for LiLi.
I made blueberry waffles this past week - boy were they good! Nothing like waffles, I tell you. Served them with butter and maple syrup. YUM!
Are those wild turkey, FCM?! LOL Thanksgiving dinner, on the run!! Speaking of which, if anyone has any recipes or knows of any recipes using splenda instead of sugar (diabetic) and (most important!) has baked/made thing that tasted good or turned out good at least, please let me know! I am hoping to make my pumpkin pie diabetic-friendly, if such a thing is possible. Heh.
That was a beautiful rose, CongoDwarf, and FCM, I actually liked that the penguin was flecked, I thought it looked great like that. I am not an art critic though. LOL
Have a great Monday everyone.
Just got back from the gyno appointment. Very nice lady. I think I’ll keep her.
She confirmed that Bart is indeed a bartholin cyst, and I get to take 2-3 hot baths a day to make him behave. She also confirmed that I am a “challenging” patient, because I have a very small cervix that points at my sacrum, a very deep, narrow vaginal vault, and very strong muscles and connective tissue - which makes moving parts around difficult. We agreed that while these are great characteristics for landing a date (okay, not a date), it makes for a difficult Pap smear.
I need to take the puppy to the park, as she is insane with energy. I need to start applying for some sort of work, and I need to do a little gardening, because my seeds came in, and I want flowers in my windowbox. (SoCal has very mild winters, so I’m hoping they’ll germinate just for me.)
Happy Monday, folks!
No Bake Lemon Cheesecake
2 8-oz pkgs Neufchatel, softened
[del]1 jar Dickenson’s Lemon Curd (in the baking aisle)[/del]
8 oz. sugar-free lemon curd
1/2 cup Splenda
1 tsp lemon zest (optional)
Graham cracker crust
Mix all ingredients, and pour into pie shell. Refrigerate 4 hours.
:grumble:… too early, etc.
Actually, its not too early. I have been up since long before the crack of dawn, studying for another Spanish test tomorrow. That sucks. On a positive note, I found out that both my wife and I will have the funds to pay for classes next term. Very good.
I was going to share with y’all a story that proves that when you’re a flashy, egotistical prick Karma will happily come bite you in the ass. But I gotta study. Maybe later, if anyone is interested.
I just went down to get the mail and I discovered that 2 of the plants… AND THE SIGN   … had been taken. That pissed me off - I had hoped to reuse the sign some day. It was a nice plastic one on a steel wire frame that you stick into the ground. Anyway, I made a new sign and taped it to the little crappy plastic table that the plants are sitting on. Hope someone steals the table… Otherwise, I have to haul it with the trash.
