We've got waffles, MMP!

Time to wake up and grab yourselves some waffles, sleepy-pies! That’s homemade waffles (my first ones ever) with real butter and warm maple syrup. The whipped cream and fruit are in the bowls over there, if that’s your poison. The coffee’s freshly made, just how you like it. Time to carb up and get goin’.

I have the dentist on my to-do list today, then the post office to send back that blasted toad-green set of tea kettles. Then I’m returning a bag of bagels. Can you believe I got blueberry bagels in my pumpkin spice bag? The sheer horror is mind-bending, I tells ya.

Hey, does anybody know how to clean a waffle iron? I’m guessing the whole thing doesn’t go in the dishwasher…

Is it okay I started? I couldn’t find where anybody volunteered. Be gentle guys-- it’s my first thread ever, as well!

Good morning! Waffles- yum! I’ve got a bagel toasting for my daughter and I’ll be heading into the shower. Don’t know what I’ll end up doing for brekkies, probably raiding my lunch when I get into work!

I wash my waffle iron by letting it cool and using damp paper towels. I love homemade waffles!

Morning all!

ETA: Wahoo! First!

I’m going to the hockey game tonight, with the added bonus that my drinking buddy from San Jose, and my “just friend” and her grandson will be there. I’m strangely happy for a Monday A.M. How was your weekend?

First!!!

My weekend rated a ‘meh’.

2nd post, 2nd MMP. : shakes fist :

Second, but I was first in DogBut’s alternate. I’ll request a merge…

ETA: third, dammit.

A[sup]2[/sup], excellent topic, altho on preview, I see we had 2 going. Guess you get demerits for that.

And NO NO NO NO do not put a waffle iron in the dishwasher!!! Soapy’s right about how to clean them. I don’t know if I still have my waffle iron…

We slept in an extra hour because my poor sweetie is really suffering. His spinal issues are causing pains to shoot down both legs, so he’s walking like an old man. Nothing helps - he really needs surgery, the poor thing. Anyway, he’s gone to work and I just ate some leftover lasagne for breakfast, because it was there.

I’ve got a lot of plans for today - we’ll see which ones materialize. I’d like to get some leaves sucked up and mulched, but first I need to get the mulcher running. I suspect a clogged fuel filter or fuel line. I’ll drag it into the garage and see if I can figure it out.

What a way to start the week. Happy Monday!!!

We need to get back to scheduling way in advance-was it GT who kept the schedule in her sig, or someone else? We need a den mother!

I will officially sign up for this Monday’s MMP. Anyone up for next Monday? Can someone volunteer to keep track?

Let’s get organized! Wahoo!

I swear I double and triple checked FCM. Honest! ** Dogbutler**-- quit using that invisible ink!

We used to have an electric waffle iron where the plates were designed to come out and go in the dishwasher…

My sister has what appears to be norovirus. Odd part is she’s not been on a cruise for several years, nor has she gone anywhere near an Occupy ________ camp. She’s sick enough that her newly ex-hubby took her to the ER yesterday.

Oh, and considering the events of last week, f*ck off TVCTPMO.

A[sup]2[/sup] - if you look at the time stamps, you beat **doggio **by about 3 minutes - HE’S the one who blew it. Typical man, I swear. You just can’t trust them. Worse than babies… :stuck_out_tongue:

I can say that because he doesn’t know where I live. Altho he *might *if he’s held on to my address. Hmmmmmm… Maybe I shouldn’t have posted that…

**BBBobbio **- that’s awful about your sister. Good thoughts going her way.

Maybe we need to discuss the price of my silence. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m still not sleeping well due to stress. Fortunately one part of the stress will be relieved in a couple of weeks. The other part is not yet. Yes, I am suffering two-part stress.

Merged duplicate threads.

Don’t y’all have a sign-up for doing the OP? Seems like the merge has become a weekly event.

TVCTPMO ummm… television connecticut toilet paper modus operandi? Have a waffle on me Bobbio. I promise I washed my hands, which if the cook or whomever had done mighta-coulda helped your sister, the poor thing.

Just remembered, I bought some Himalayan pink salt the other day. It doesn’t taste very pink, or Himalayan but I like the idea of it. Oh yeah! One of my friends sent me a Totoro hat. I’ll be stunning what with the ears sticking up on top.http://www.justmanga.com/jmpprod.cfm?itemno=TOHT0001

Close, it’s The Vast Conspiracy To Piss Me Off.

Pink salt? I have a bag of Prague Powder #2 (sodium nitrite) for the day I find a crock big enough to pickle my own corned beef.

Pffffffft - I ain’t askeert o’ you! :stuck_out_tongue:

Twicks, sometimes we have volunteers ahead of time, sometimes we don’t - alas, lately we’ve been rudderless. I’m sure we’ll figure something out. I certainly don’t want to get you all miffed at us… <trembling in fear of the powerful mod…>

Speaking of Thanksgiving, I just got an email from an old friend - as in someone I met when I was first in the Navy in 1973. She lives in Arlington, VA, and we’ve been trying to get together forever. I’d invited her to dine with us on turkey and such, but she’d had plans. Then her car broke down and sucked her savings account dry, so she’s available, and she’ll be joining my fambly for our annual dining insanity. So YAY!

And speaking of which, I’ve already volunteered for the Monday after Thanksgiving, so don’t nobody go jumping over my head on that one! :stuck_out_tongue:

I tend to waffle on a lot of things, ironing in particular. Plus there’s folding, dusting, vacuuming, loading the dishwasher (making my wife a drink), unloading the dishwasher (putting her to bed) and, probably more than anything else cleaning the cat litter box. I take “Don’t litter” very, very seriously.

Good mornin’.

A[sup]2[/sup], waffles are a great idea especially with real butter. I can’t remember when I last had proper butter, usually it’s some kind of low-fat margarine sort of thing. I have no idea what you do with a waffle iron either, I’ve never even seen one.

I was a bad mumper and didn’t make it to the MMP at all last week - I blame this work stuff, I was just so busy all day I didn’t have time to do anything vaguely sociable. Today I have had to shoo everyone away from the office and make time for you guys.

Tonight I’ve got a meal out with friends as one half of the couple we stay with in Hungary is visiting for a few days. His mother had a fall and has been in the horsepistol for a while so he came over to see her and is going back home tomorrow but has just about got time to meet up with us this evening.

I did go and visit my mother yesterday and she confessed to breaking the interwebz, so if you couldn’t get connected on Sunday, apparently it was all her fault.

Srsly Scarey? Because my interweb was goofy yesterday. Well, just a little slow for a while, but I was thinking of sending the hampsters some espresso.

Is the salt corn kernel sized Bobbio? I worry about the spice blend since I have yet to get it to my liking. Pink salt would make for very expensive corned beef. Mine didn’t cost much, but the primo stuff is extremely spendy.

Which reminds me I need to put together the rub for the ribs I’ll be making. Cook’s Illustrated has a great one-- worth the cost of the whole book. I’m making extra so it’ll be on hand for next time, which will be soon since the rub will already be mixed, see? Anything to increase rib consumption, yum!

Also, my hand lotion tastes terrible.
