We've got waffles, MMP!

My nice history professor is going to let me resubmit the quiz I somehow managed to submit without actually pasting the essay I had typed in Word. Benefit to being a good student is that professors believe you when you tell them you had a stupid moment. Only problem now is that I didn’t save the Word doc (apparently it was a really stupid moment) and now I have to try to remember what I wrote 2 weeks ago.
I am caught up on all my normal Nutrition work. I also did one of the 3 tests. I don’t know how I’ve managed to not do any tests so far but she doesn’t give them deadlines so I’m not actually late. Two more tests and I’ll be completely caught up.

Don’t know what my issue is this semester. I’m much more focused on the actual work that I’m doing than I was all last year but my organizational skills have totally disappeared. I’ve never had such a hard time keeping up to date and posting things properly. I’m just gonna keep blaming it on transferitis because the only other option is CRS and I’m too young for that.

I like waffles.

Why are you hospitalized,** Li-Li?** Sending my very best wishes to you and yours.

I used to have a boss who called volunteering for stuff an opportunity to excel.

I hope** FCD** is in a little less pain this evening,** FCM.** Did the rest of your plants get taken?

I just sort of skimmed, so hugs where needed and smooches where wanted. I’m just too tired and distracted to keep up with anything tonight.

Evening all! Waffles sound great. Or pancakes. Or anything I don’t have to cook. Too tired taking care of my toddler all day.

Need to find a good breakfast place around here.

Have added Mommmmmm to the 28th. Need to further edit my sig, I think, because it looks confusing, but we’re now accepting applications for anything after 11/28.

Off to bed.

Hugs.

Srsly!

Just got back from the MRI place for my left knee. Hopefully the doc will find out why it locks up and a non-surgery solution. No way it could be that bad, right?

No ribs tonight thanks to the MRI, but tomorrow it’s a cooking and baking day. Also more errands all over the place.

I hope Hugo is a good movie like the previews are claiming. First movie I’ve cared to go see in a coon’s age.

Oooh! The super crazy angry red-headed lady is in total melt down on Hoarders. Her poor daughter. :(Gotta get me a front row seat!

Good news: I have officially hooked phoukaMom on Battlestar Galactica. Woohoo! Bad news: this means I have to wait to watch the DVDs with her, and while we watch them together, I’m supposed to explain every imaginable subplot, character interaction, exploration of theme and sub-theme, and all possible related minutiae.

“Why are they showing us that briefcase?” “Because the director is a fan of Hitchcock, Mom. The briefcase is important.” “Is it going to blow up?” “I don’t know.” “Why don’t you know?” “Because it’s been five years since I watched this.”

“Wait, why did she do that?” “Because she’s a Cylon, Mom.” “I thought she was a good guy.” “She is, but she’s also a Cylon.” “But, isn’t she the same person on the ship?” “No, that’s another copy of the same model.” “Is that one a good guy?” “She doesn’t know she’s a Cylon. She thinks she’s human. It’s complicated.” “When will she find out?” “On the worst day of her life. Now watch!”

“This Baltar guy, is he really that stupid?” “He’s a genius, Mom, but yes, he’s stupid.” “Well, why?” “Because he thinks too much with his little head.” “Is he having sex with that woman?” “Yes, yes, he is.” “But she’s not real.” “No, she’s not.” “So, he’s not actually having sex, is he?” “Philosophically speaking, Mom, it could go either way.”

“I like Adama.” “Me too.” “And the president kicks ass.” “Yes, yes, she does.” “Why does everyone on this show smoke?” “I don’t know, Mom. Maybe the Twelve Colonies never appointed a Surgeon General.”

“What happens to him?” “He dies, Mom.” “What?! When?” “Eventually. Everyone dies eventually.” “Stop being a smart ass, phouka.” “Sure, Mom.” “And go get me a Diet Coke, and make some popcorn.” “You got it, Mom.”

I think we got through four episodes. Still on Season 1 though. It’s really a lot of fun, especially since she has so little grounding in scifi, and she sees this as much more of an exploration of social and political philosophy.

Next, you can turn her on to BuffytVS

Oh, she knows all about Buffy and even reads my fanfic when I put it in front of her. Unlike most people I know, phoukaMom is capable of enjoying a series or a genre without getting all fanaticky fangirl about it. I think it’s a recessive gene I didn’t pick up.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 85! Really makes it hard to dress. I feel like I need a light jacket in the mornin’ but not later on, so I have to keep up with a jacket all day. I’m seven years old when it comes to keepin’ up with stuff like jackets, umbrellas, etc.

Ashes[sup]2[/sup] hope the knee stuff turns out all non-surgical.

shortdrum, unfortunately, CRS can show up at any age. It’s ok as long as it does not turn into full blown CRAFT.

Yay for gettin’ your car back Rebo!

kanga you’re such a good daughter for entertainin’ your mom.

Now I must seek out more caffiene and brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

**Taters **- yep, the rest of the plants were claimed, but, alas, no one stole the crappy plastic table.

The sweater I’m knitting for my daughter is made all in one piece - I’m just about done with the right sleeve and I’ll soon be casting on extra stitches for the body. I need to make notes on what I did with the right sleeve so I can keep the left sleeve symmetrical. I’ve modified the pattern slightly, so the stitch/row counts differ a bit from the original. But since it’s done all in one piece and there’s a sketch of the dimensions of that piece, the modifications seems to be pretty straightforward. We shall see how it goes.

And the two afghans for the AARP group are laundered and ready to go. I just need to remember to take Mom’s plastic container and one of my extra meat thermometers to her also. Seems I’m always taking stuff to Mom…

Class today - I need to take a couple of pieces of sandpaper with me. I should have several pieces fresh from the kiln that may need a little touching up. And if they’re not unloaded, I’ll just throw a couple more planters. Always have a backup plan!

Daughter is coming for supper tonight, so it’ll be meatloaf, smashed N.O.T. with gravy, and some sort of vegetable matter. Maybe I’ll stop at the Amish market and see if they’ve got a small head of cabbage. It’s nice to have dinner decided - I really need to do weekly meal planning to make my life easier. Really should do that…

Happy Tuesday!!!

Went to the hockey game with my “just friend”:), her grandson, and my drinking buddy from San Jose. Grandson is apparently my new hockey buddy.

Fun fact: Roomie, who loves to share TMI is squicked out by the word “uvula” :dubious:.

Blurf. Fell asleep on the sofa-- it’s a two-seater and comfy since I sleep all curled up, but Sweet Pea decided I needed company. Nothing like a pudgy pug snoring on your head. I’m going to go back to sleep if I can, then attack the day a little later.

Moooommm– does sandpaper do the job? I had my students use a Dremel drill for the occasional touch up, mucho easy. And also, you get to wear eye cover thingies and look tough. Wish I could find a place around here with a kiln. What do you think of air dry clay?

Thanks for the good thoughts Swampy. I’ll pass 'em on to those who needs 'em. In fact, I’m going to be lighting heathen-candles-I-just-have-playing with. If they work, it couldn’t hurt to add MMP requests. Any body?

I just realized there is no such word as alot, you can’t divide by zero, and G. Gordon Liddy isn’t dead. I knew them, but I didn’t realize.

A[sup]2[/sup] - sandpaper works fine after bisque firing, but once it’s been fired to cone 6, it definitely needs a grinder or something similar. I’ve only used air dry clay once - to make a mold. Beyond that, I know nothing about the stuff.

I think I’ll grab a quick shower, then run to the WaWa for a breakfast sammich…

NO sleep last night. Even after I took my usual melatonin and 1/2 an Ambien. I’ll be yawning all day. And my cat Spike is missing. Not usually a big deal - sometimes the boys go down to the barn and pretend they’re barncats for a couple days, but I went down there and called and he didn’t come. But that’s where he was 3 day sago when I saw him last. I wish he’d come home. Or at least go to my shed. I store my feed there, last night I turned on the light to get the horses’ feed and there was a big rat in there!

LiLi - what’s up? I obviously missed something important.

StG

I really don’t understand why some evenings I can sleep for at least 7 hours without my back hurting and other nights I wake up every couple of hours and can barely move in the morning. I’d like to know what the difference is so I know what not to do again.

So, as a result I’m just sort of sitting on the couch waiting for my back to cooperate before leaping into my day. Meanwhile I’m contemplating breakfast.

Buns - it could have something to do with how you’re moving in your sleep. But since I’ve not watched you sleep, I can’t say for certain. Make sure you’re as comfortable as possible before you close your eyes. You may want to think about getting a body pillow, so when you roll over, you have something supporting your front.

So the game was gettin’ kinda slow and I surfed around and came across a classic, High Plains Drifter. Hadn’t seen it in quite awhile so I settled in and watching the cast, one of them strikes me as pretty familiar. It was the mayor and all of a sudden I remember his voice elsewhere… “He asks if you are the great warrior who avenges the Crazy Woman in the Wolf Tail Valley. She’s big medicine. And so are you, if you be that man.”

And it hits me… that’s Del Gue from Jeremiah Johnson. That’s easily one of my top 5 favorite flicks of all time. So I did a little searching online trying to find a way to send him, Stefan Gierasch, a note, just a little something to let him know how much I enjoyed the role he played, but I guess it comes as no surprise that contact information for an actor, no matter how ‘unglamorous’ they may be, is kinda hard to come by. Bummer, i’d have liked to have brought a smile, even if only a small, wry one, to an 85 year old’s screen-worthy face.

I had strawberry waffles and bacon for breakfast this morning.

Tisiphone’s insurance has paid up and the check is in the mail. They paid everything without any quibbling. Better than some health insurance I’ve had. coughBlue Crosscough.

I need to pick up my jacket from the dry cleaners and then I’m all set for Thursday’s work party. Friday is our Thanksgiving luncheon, and all that’s left is to pick up the linens on Thursday. But I totally forgot the office birthday party is tomorrow! Argh! Must order cake. Next week, I have mandatory training on Monday (hey, we’re closed for the week, that means everyone has time to come in, right?) and the rest of the week off. Woo hoo!

I have a UTI that didn’t respond to two rounds of oral antibiotics, so we spent last week in the merry hell of trying to arrange home nurse to come give me IVs all the time. Apparently they are missing their brains, because I spent a lot of time in waiting rooms and being told stupid stuff and with nurses not appearing. I blogged about it a lot.

It’s serious because although I don’t have symptoms right now, if it does decide to get bad it will get bad fast and we could lose both the babies.

No. Nononnononononono! I don’t want the nurses from the hospital bringing me food! Not ever!

Anyway, there was another patient in my room last night, the nurse at midnight wanted to have a long conversation and monitor the babies (who are fine, thank you) and I got woken up between every fifteen minutes to an hour all night. I’m fried. Making lunch and then napping before I go back.

Done with the house. The executor decided her daughter and I are right and she’s just turning it all over to the heirs. There is enough cash in the bank now to cover the basic aspects of the funeral she signed for.
Need to go rest a while.
