Good morning, folks.
It seems like it’s going to be a somewhat damp day, with some sprinkles in the forecast. It’s supposed to get up to around 61F. Not bad! I love the rain, so, it’s all good. We need it, anyway.
I have more laundry to do. Probably two loads. Could be three. Ugh. I don’t even want to deal with it. My daughter did up dishes, so I need to put them away, and then vacuum. This crap never ends. I may, or may not (depends on my mood), make a batch of cookies, later. I can’t have any, but, it’ll give me something to do, other than be bored half to death. I’m sure the laundry will take care of that, though.
FCM, I know what you, and FCD are dealing with. I went through it with my grandma. Of course, she lived with us, and she went through all the stuff your FIL is going through, dementia-wise. She also became a bit combative. For a frail-ish, 91 year old Italian woman, she was surprisingly strong when she chose to be combative. Good grief. I’m just so sorry that your family has to deal with it. I absolutely understand how difficult it is.
As for the driving, well, my grandma would NOT stop driving. The last straw was when she drove to church, about 2 blocks from here. She was leaving, and ran into someone’s car. They were nice about it, and there was really no damage to either vehicle. I couldn’t allow her to drive, anymore. She was going to hurt someone/something, and it would have been my fault, since I was her POA, and stuff. In my mind, anyway. I don’t know if it would have been, or not.
Anyway, I finally had to fake a letterhead, and print off a fake letter, from the ‘local BMV’, and I mailed it to my grandma, saying that her doctor had informed the BMV that she was no longer able to drive a vehicle, and her license had been revoked. She was pissed, but, it worked! So, I consider it a win.
Have a good day, everyone.
