What a week! Or, I got a job!

On Monday, I woke to the sound of water gushing from my stopcock. Cue plumber and lots of mopping up.
On Tuesday I was still mopping up and went to borrow a specialised vacuum from a friend. In the afternoon I got a phone call about a job in Aberdeen. Cue phone calls to the agent, Easyjet, and the DWP. Meeting arranged with the DWP for late Weds. And more mopping up.
On Wednesday I spoke to the DWP about getting funding for travel - the Travel to Interview Scheme - because I had to go by train which left at 13:05. Funding was granted in principle. So I travelled up, arriving at 21:15.
On Thursday, I had the interview and travelled back down. The train was late and I got home well after midnight.
On Friday, I had to go to Brighton to see the solicitor dealing with my aunt’s estate. On the way back, I got a call to say I’d got the job! Yay! Then I visited my parents.
I’m finally home. Phew!
Now I’ve got more clean-up to do and to prepare to emigrate to Jockland.

I’m celebrating with a bottle of Pear cider.

Woohoo. Wishing you luck and joy in your new career!

Congratulations and enjoy the Pear cider!

Congrats! Jobs are good!

Indeed. Congrats on the job!

Gratz to a Q-Bro!!!

(Sis? hard to tell from the profile)

Anyway, best wishes and much success, Quartz!

Quasi

Congrats! Good for you, and wishing you all success.

Shodan

How long have you been looking for a job? I had to look up ‘Jockland’ - it said it’s a pejorative for Scotland… what is that about?

Yap and he will have to learn the distinct Aberdonian dialect of Jockanese called Doric!

Congrats!

I’ve been unemployed for just over a year. It’s going to be good to get back into work.

Congrats, Quartz! There’s hope for us all!

Welcome to chilly Jockoland Quartz

Congratulations! You write in perfect English. It took me a while on the old pocket translator to figure out if it was good news or not but is sounds great.
