What are the worst songs?

Michael McDonald’s Christmas wreck Deck the Halls/Jingle Bells.
Be glad I can’t link to it.

Bob Seger’s bragfest Against the Wind.
I refuse to link to it as if someone hasn’t heard it.

(OK, there probably are worse songs, but I really can’t stand either of these two guys and had to sound off about it.)

You might consult Dave Barry’s Book of Bad Songs.

On the other hand, see here for music intentially designed to be as bad as possible.

That’s a shit version of that song but I think that song is a bit of a lark. I first encountered red solo cups at my 30th last year so maybe it’s just the association but I think that song isn’t anywhere near the worst songs. Apart from anything else, it’s quite obviously, deliberately disposable country pop. (No pun intended)

Can it simply be a cover version of a song?

This has been asked before. There is no reason for me to answer any differently than I did last time: Break My Stride - Matthew Wilder

Michael W. Smith’s “Gloria”.

My first thought upon hearing that song for the first time was that the singer seemed to think that “Gloria” was a woman’s name.

My second thought was to wonder if it was possible to hit a song in the face with a tire iron, and if so, how that might be accomplished.

I’ve been pissed at Sugarloaf’s Green Eyed Lady for a while, for having what appears to be a cool hook but is ultimately a terrible, terrible song.

“Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle. Nothing else is even close. I’ll spare you the link to the Youtube video.

Braunschweiger for Two? :dubious:

Jump in my Car. Atrocious and unforgiveable.

Yet I love this one. Please explain, somebody

Maybe it’s a reluctance on my part to completely condemn him, after enjoying Baywatch in the past?

Irwin Chusid’s “Incorrect Music” ( Incorrect Music Playlists and Archives ) should give you hours and hours of listening pleasu-- Well, hours of listening.

There are also about a thousand sites much like this one available:

(I just scrolled down and saw Baby Lulu, so you really need search no further…)

How about this slab of freeform jazz, “Machine Gun” by sax player Peter Brotzmann?

How about Philip & Vanessa with Two Sleepy People?

Ever notice how similar the opening is to that of “Back in the USSR”?

I don’t usually share this one until the day after Thanxgiving:

Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA”

… and every other ‘artist’s’ gawd-awful attempt to screech/squawk/scream that bastard of a ‘song’.

Please make that bad song go away. Forever.

I like that song.

If Friday was ever released commercially, it wins. I only know it as an internet meme, don’t know if it counts.
