I’d really like BMG Music Club to add a few more classic rock artists/CDs to their inventory. (They still owe me four free CD’s and I can’t find anything in else in their inventory that appeals to me …)
Also, if anyone as an extra quarter mil lying about in their bank account and nothing to spend it on, I’d be willing to accept a donation …
The usual–anime Specifically the last volume of Ghost in the Shell, since I have all the others already. I might add a couple other DVDs to the list–I’ve wanted Arjuna for a while–but they’ll be short series only. The only other set I really want has been out of print for a couple years, and I’m not sending my parents to eBay to look for it.
There’s also a couple books I want, Kushiel’s Scion and Your Call is Important to Us: The Truth About Bullshit (how can you not love a book with a name like that?). Also asking for a WoW game card, since I can never have too many of those. And I’ve been meaning to make up a list of stores for my aunt who keeps buying me gift cards to Wal-Mart :dubious:
The only other things I’d want right now are a Wii and a video iPod, but neither is happening so there’s no point in asking.
Also, hopefully: either Grey’s Anatomy, season 2, House, season 2, or Supernatural, season 1. Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett looks really good as well.
I’ll probably be getting my mum some silk scarves and a bit of jewelry, and my dad a book or a CD–my brother, a new game for his Wii. Then there’s something small for my grandmother and grandfather’s new apartment, my cousins, my long-time family friend and neighbour, my best friend… and that’s all I can think of at the moment. Cards will be going out a lot.
I am hoping that my hubby will give me the DVD box set of The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., but money is very tight this year, so it probably isn’t gonna happen.
I can’t believe how long I’ve had my present billfold–if it was still recognizable as such. It’s disintegrating rapidly now. I have to open it correctly or I’ll spend a few minutes picking up cards, licenses, and pictures.
This kind of makes me want to ask the guys on the board how long have they had their present billfold. Maybe someday I will.
Some new handles for my blades (as in oars not knives), they are disintergrating and ripping my hands to shreds. Depending on how generous my parents are feeling, either a new surfboard or some nice winter rowing kit.
Gift cards, preferably from Lowe’s or Home Depot. I know, I know, but they’re great for home and garden stuff in the Spring. I really, really, really want 'em.
I never ask for specific things for Christmas, but this year I’m making an exception. I really want a nice pair of my own flippers for swimming laps. I’m tired of digging through the tangle in the basket at the Y and worrying about getting athlete’s foot or some other nasty thing from them.
Gun-related expenses: Shooting is an expensive hobby. I need/want:[ul][]a better set of ear protectors. My current cheap-ass ones are only rated 15dB; I wear them with earplugs and it still is godawful loud on the range[]a lockbox to keep my gun secure like it ought to be[]ammo. There’s simply no limit to how much ammo you can use for target practice[]range fees. It’s $20 a visit cash, or $150 for ten range tokens or $250 for 20 range tokens.[][]Money for any number of classes I want once I get my basic marksmanship down: carry permit, home invasion response, tactical training.[/ul]
I haven’t had time this past year to finish the puzzles or DVDs I got last Christmas. I was going to ask for Danger Mouse seasons 3-4, but NetFlix has them and I don’t care if I don’t own them. You go from having more time than money to more money than time in a flash, it seems.
I am asking for a B-52 half stack. The AT-100 head and the AT-412A cab. Either that or I am going to have a payent made on my car. I have my car down to ~1900 and it will be nice to pay the thing off. I am going to get the car paid off in roughly four months, two years early.

Isn’t there a club around somewhere that you could join? Usually a membership is cheaper than a couple of months worth of range fees. And they make perfect gifts.
Firstly, I’m not a fan of Christmas and I can’t stop family from buying me things. This year I’ve decided to give up and request hard drives. That’s it. That’s all I want. Lots of hard drives.
Perhaps this year I’ll avoid getting things I don’t want, never use, and always end up in a box someplace.
I’m not entirely sure. I need a few things, namely a new winter coat and pair of sturdy everyday shoes, but I don’t want some family member to pick out something like that for me. Beyond that, I’ll be asking some sort of mix of DVDs and books.
Right now, there isn’t anything I really lust after that costs less than several hundred dollars, and my interest in the usual affordable gadgety things isn’t enough to justify their cost.
I would absolutely love to get the Xbox 360 along with Gears of War - but that will not happen.
I asked my mother for some random clothes and keychain/coffee-mug-things. I also asked them to fix my laptop but I don’t know if it will happen. I’m pretty sure my sisters will get me t-shirts - they always do (and I don’t mind).
