What are you listening to right now?

Dave Matthews Band, Crash. Mmm… I can’t wait to see them in July.

The sound of the refrigerator kicking on and cars passing on the road below. Other than that it’s very quite. I love peace and quite.

O.A.R. - Revolution

A show about computers and technology on the radio. When that ends Kaizers Orchestra, a norwegian folk/macedonian/industrial band with lyrics about gangsters and russian roulette.

The sound of coffee brewing. Mmm… coffee…

Golden Earring, a compilation CD

Spinner netradio. Laugh Trax channel

Counting Crows / feat. Vanessa Carlton - They Paved Paradise…

Oh, and the hum of 7000 rpm fan for my overclocked Athlon.

Poe - Angry Johnny

I am listening to the sound of howling winds and rain pelting my windows…

I also have the movie Se7en on in the background. It’s the scene where the SWAT team is screaming “Dcks! Dcks! Get in here!”

The fan. And occasionally a child’s voice will be loud enough to make it up here, as B’s helping them paint.

insomnia, how does one shout an asterisk?

Barenaked Ladies - Jane

Revolution by The Beatles.

The Starlight Mints’ Valerie Flames is playing on the computer here in the bedroom. My grandpa’s antique desk fan is buzzing away, such a nice sound. Windchimes bing-bonging softly out on the balcony. Wishing it was cool enough to go sit outside and enjoy an iced tea on this summer afternoon…

Some Travel channel thing… “minerals are an important part of a moose’s diet” is the quote of the moment.

(can’t see the tv from my desk, so it’s just background soundtrack).

The occasional chirp of a bird, windchimes, the jingling of my dog’s collar, my son practicing his bass and my daughter practicing her guitar, along with the soft hum of my computer and gentle tapping of the keys as I type.

“Doubt” on “Switched On” by the unfathomably good Stereolab

The hum of my computer. Also, my dad’s power tools, as he is working on some compost project for my mom.

Oh, and the loud “TAK TAK TAK TAK” of my keyboard being pounded on.

ZZ Top’s rendition of “Viva Las Vegas”…not bad, actually

All is forgiven;)

PDA by Interpol.

Check 'em out. They’re like a present-day, less depressing Joy Division. And I mean that in a good way.
