I saw Lucinda Williams and Old Crow Medicine Show on Austin City Limits and liked them both, I’ve been listening to them quite a bit.
Right this second, Submarine Club by Midnight Brown. Their stuff is all free on their website, but fair warning, most of it is crazy weird.
When I started reading the thread, Hell Yes by Beck.
Since I Left You by The Avalanches
It’s been over 8 years since they released their first and only album. Please make another one…please.
Oooooooh, now I wanna go and listen to that. Haven’t in years.
The Evil Prince eats the snouts and the trotters first, you know.
Zoot Allures is such a great album.
“Introduce A Little Anarchy” from the Dark Knight soundtrack. I swear it makes me want to go out and swirl a cape around my shoulders and strike a noble pose [del]and then fall over flat on my face[/del].
“Kipumylly,” from Finland’s own Korpiklaani. “Happy Little Boozer” got my attention when I heard it on Pandora.
Are you going to do it chronologically? Because it should be interesting for you to hear how they developed. I’d love to know what you think of their stuff. You ought to have an ongoing thread over however long it takes you to get throught it all.
Listening now: Naturally (Wintry Ways) by the Peanut Butter Conspiracy. I haven’t heard it before; it’s surprisingly good. Surprisingly, because they don’t have a great reputation.
Yes! I forgot who it was here that posted in another thread about different websites to try, but I’ll have to thank that poster. I picked a whole bunch of artists and I’m currently playing my library (I’m nuttybunny1). I just heard Tragically Hip’s “Lonely End of the Rink”, followed by XTC’s “Senses Working Overtime”, now it’s Joe Jackson’s “Got the Time”.
I’m discovering new bands I’ve never heard of or have heard about, but hadn’t heard their songs. Since The Shins are in my library, Last.fm suggested The Decemberists, but I really, really don’t like them at all. Maybe they have to grow on me. I’ll give them another shot.
Re: The Beatles. I was born in 1970 when they broke up, so when I was a young child through my teenage years, I was still hearing them on the radio. That’s how I became a fan. Today, I don’t really know where a child or teenager or even 20-something would hear them except if their parents listened to them with the kids around. They are played on oldies stations that play Barry Manilow or The Supremes and I’ll never hear the later stuff, it’s always “She Loves You” or “8 Days a Week”.
“Madame Guillotine” from The Scarlet Pimpernel musical…er, now transitioning to the Halo 2 theme “Mjollnir” mix.
I’m not entirely sure I want to see the Venn diagram that includes me and my tastes.
“Float” by Flogging Molly. It keeps me spiritually connected to me Irish roots and it fookin’ rawks!, me boyo.
Smile.dk’s Doki Doki single finally came out on iTunes, and I’ve been listening to all the remixes but especially the Panik mix (half-length version). It the fastest-paced song I’ve ever heard; it’s awesome!

Whatever Radio Paradise internet radio is playing. It’s on all day, even if we don’t always like the choices. It just segued from Thievery Corporation to REM and now to Wilson Pickett. It’s introduced me to a lot of bands I wouldn’t have heard of, but I wish it would play some of them less often. Still, I got to know Fleet Foxes, The Wailin’ Jennys, Stone Roses and Cat Power.
I’m always a little slow to catch on. Foo Fighters didn’t show up in the library until about the third album, Death Cab late last year, and the Flogging Molly discography just arrived post-xmas.
DJ Encore’s Another Day. His hit I See Right through to You is also good (and completely different from the song in my last post). Although apparently it became popular as the theme song for Danish Big Brother :D.

Evanescence- “Call Me When You’re Sober”
Show Biz Kids, by Steely Dan
My “DePecheMode Overload” playlist, cobbled together from my numerous DM CD
Ariel Ramirez : Misa Criolla
Have MTV Taiwan on right now, and they’re playing Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy” video. Quite a nice song actually.
Opeth - Burden I normally prefer the harder stuff, but this is just such a beautiful and amazing song.
“Freedom of Choice”, Devo
The only band I know of that references ancient strawman arguments in their lyrics.
