If you want some, I can tell you some great places to find it. Seriously, there’s this one by a friend of mine…sooo hot.
I have to admit that I started writing some, but I refuse to write anything when they are kids. It has to be future fic, or it’s just OOGY
Words cannot express how upset this makes me! I thought that for once I had an original idea!
BDS is the one fandom that can get me past my twincest squick.
Jonathan/David is practically canon.
Why do the pairings have to be homosexual, anyway?
Tom/Jerry?
Fred/Barney?
Shaggy/Fred?
Maybe I just don’t have a good handle on this “slash” business…
Because that’s what slash is. Straight pairings is het.
The *definition * of slash is a pairing of two males who are straight, usually in pop culture.
If they are already gay, it’s gay erotica.
I think it’s pretty good. Never heard of Tom/Jerry, but the other two do actually exist. Yabba dabba doo!
Ok. I give. So who’s sharing some good links?
elenia25@yahoo com
Please?
Funny, I was under the impression that the word “slash” referred to the slash mark used to name the particular coupling contained in the story, i.e. Kirk/Spock. That many of the earliest stories along these lines happened to be of a homosexual bent was, I thought, due to the fact that the original Star Trek had a mostly male cast and may have been the first (or one of the first) series to inspire widely-distributed amateur fiction through fanzines and whatnot. Had the genders on the show been more balanced, I’ve no doubt every possible pairing[sup]*[/sup] would be covered and a distinction would have to be made between “gay slash” and “straight slash”, if one cared to do so.
Oh, well…
[sup]*[/sup]As well as numerous threesomes, I expect
I think we are both right, in a way. Slash does refer to the slash mark, but slash generally means male-male. It would never occur to me to write a het or lesbian story about two famous actors and call it slash.
The original definition covered both orientations, but it’s changed. Words change to fit what people think they mean, and these days general consensus is, slash means gay, het means straight. I had a whole poll about this on my LJ some time last year.
**Anaamika **, what kind of slash d’you want? As in, for what, what pairings, etc…I may have some, or could find some for ya.
And yeah, BDS is twincest, but a friend of mine had already introduced me to Weasleycest, so it wasn’t really an issue by then. Comparatively, I’m not easily squicked. I like all the participants to be human, and of age, but cant think of much else I’m all that picky about. Oh, yeah, has to be decently well written. Crap slash really just isn’t worth it.
Jack Sparrow/Will Turner.
Any of the above. And I like the poets idea, too, but who knows where to find that.
But no freakin’ hobbits please. thanks!
I tend to call lesbian stories “femslash.”
Oh boy. I really enjoy a good Jack/ Daniel pairing. And just to show I’m equal opportunity, I like Sam/Janet too.
A good place to find all Stargate slash is: http://www.area52hkh.net/
I like Invisible Man (the SciFi TV version) slash, it’s just very hard to find.
Ooh, can I play?
Archie Bunker/ Mike, with George Jefferson as the pivot man.
Thundercats
Lion-O/Snarf, Panthro/Snarf, WileyKit/Snarf, Lynxot/Snarf, Jaga/Snarf, Slythe/Snarf, Jackalman/Snarf, Monkian/Snarf, Rattaro/Snarf, and most of all Vultureman/Snarf.
SilverHawks
Bluegrass/Copperkid, Monstar/Yesman
And who hasn’t written Batman Beyond slash where Bruce Wayne gives Terry a very special lesson?
