What are your favorite store-bought cookies?

Great Value Fudge Covered Peanut Butter Filled Cookies. Mounds of peanut butter covered in fudge. Pretty cheap, too, only $1.50 a package.

Also, whatever Oreos specialty flavor is. Currently, I’ve been buying chocolate hazelnut. It’s like a Nutella filled cookie.

Some of the Wal-Mart brands are really good.

I’m delaying my next trip to the grocery store. And my next trip to World Market. I’m loaded for bear and dangerous now.

Keebler Fudge Stripes! Shortbread and fudge, and they’re made by Elves in the Hollow Tree.

I don’t even know if these are made anymore: Nabisco Pinwheel cookies. A flat cookie topped with a (vaguely) pinwheel-shaped circle of marshmallow, and then it’s all covered in chocolate.

I haven’t had one for at least thirty-five years. Those were dangerous.

Danish Wedding Cookies – not quite as large as they were in the 1960s, but still very good

If I have a large glass of cold milk, then a bag would be considered a single serving

el fudge cookies and any “soft” chocolate chip …I miss keeblers “soft batch” cookies

Walmart had an orange pineapple cookie i liked too …

When I was a kid, I loved Vienna Fingers. I had some recently, and either the recipe has changed in the last 50 years (ya think?) or my palette is more refined. So I think I have to vote for tried-n-true Oreos. Not double-stuff or the various flavored varieties - just the classic, with a cold glass of milk.

I like the Archway Windmill cookies (https://www.amazon.com/Archway-Original-Windmill-Cookies-Ounce/dp/B003KI7U9S) . They are what I would call a spice cookie.

I also like the Pepperidge Farms Chess Men that **salinqmind ** also mentioned above. Crunchy and buttery.

I also like the Blakes Chocolate Chip with walnut cookies. Light and crunchy.

If I were to make cookies at home, I would not make crunchy ones. I’d prefer them chewier to crunchier.
I dislike Chips Ahoy (and similar) chocolate chip cookies so much that I’ve been known to say they taste like dog biscuits to me.

And I have to admit that you Fig Newton lovers baffle me.
First, that’s not a cookie. I don’t know what it is, but it’s not a cookie.
And they taste and feel awful. They are dry, have weird fig seeds, and little (but odd) fig flavor.
My husband loves them so much that he hides them in the bedroom closet. I always tell him that hiding Fig Newtons is not necessary. They are not now and never have been in danger; not even from the teenager horde that lives here.

The proper way to eat Chessmen is to chew off the border, then eat the background. Finally the chess piece.

Curiosity question: is there a full chess set in every bag? It would be kinda cool to play chess with them and eat the captured cookies in lieu of returning them ala traditional rules.

Don’t have any on hand but I think not. Roughly equal number of each piece IIRC. So you could buy 3 or 4 packages!

Pepperidge Farm Sausalito–chocolate chip/macadamia nut

pepperidge farm geneva

They have semi sweet chocolate. They’ve been hard to find lately. A couple groceries I visit don’t stock them.

I also like the Chessmen

I keep Keebler Vienna Fingers Cookies in my freezer. They thaw in 15 mins.

VERY impressive, Mix, thanks! Now, on to the milk-dunk test.

My youth here. These were all wonderful cookies.

Oreo has a Easter variety. Stuffed with peeps. So good. I can’t stand it, I want some right now.
Whoever asked about pinwheels, walmart has them. Not as good as I remember.
If any one wants me to test any variety or brand of cookie just let me know. I am up for the job.

I saw those! Didn’t dare buy any. I’d have gone through the whole package in two days, possibly one day.

You’re a credit to the team.

Yeah, I’m with Chefguy on both of those. Can’t stand any of those marshmallow candy bars/cookies (also, Mallo Cups and there’s probably another one I’ve found in gas stations in the Midwest that I’m forgetting. If you’re wondering why I even eat them, it’s because I have this weird compunction of trying whatever the local treats are.) It’s odd, as I actually like regular ol’ marshmallows, but whenever I encounter them in that form, it’s just awful.

Why thank you.
And seriously those Oreo peeps are the bomb.
Me and lil’wrekker ate a package in about 4 hrs.
My sugar went way too high.
Can’t do that again, for awhile.

For the price, Spartan brand vanilla sandwich cookies. But the store I used to go to closed, and another store run by the same people doesn’t stock those. I don’t know where I can get them, so I fall back to paying more for my second-favorite: Famous Amos.

My absolute favorite though are the Costco chocolate chunk cookies. So good I can’t keep them in the house because I wouldn’t have the self-control to stop eating them. The same is true for ice cream. Every once in a while I’ll get Costco cookies, but I can’t make it a habit.
