What Beer do you enjoy the most?

Hey, capybara, speaking of Belgian beers…

Have you had Gulden Draak? I had some a couple weeks ago on my b-day. Yum!

Ferrous, why yes I have and yes it is oh-so-yummy.
I miss the beer-heaven store out off the Burlingame (I think) ramp in Portland, out towards Lewis and Clark. Know where I’m talking about? Burlingame Grocery, maybe?

Usually I like:

Sleemans Honey Brown
Wolf’s Scottish Cream Ale
Hermann’s Dark Lager

and if all else fails, good ol Molson Canadian!

Black Lizard

Not much of a beer drinker, but I would much rather have a Coors Light than a thick dark beer. I like the cool watered down taste!

Colt 45 and lots of it. Goddamn its smooth!

You recall correctly. Alas, the Burlingame Grocery burned down a year and a half ago. Under somewhat suspicious circumstances, too. I understand the owner was suspected of arson, but it was never proved.

But there’s still several fine beer stores in town. I got the aforementioned Belgian delight at Nature’s Northwest at NW 15th & Fremont. Johnson Creek Market in the deep Southeast has a great selection as well.

Sam Adam’s is great but the Cranbery Lambic, IMO, is nasty.

Sierra Nevada !!!

Definite nod to Guiness and Gordon Biersch(sp?)

Being allergic to alcohol, I have to drink the non-alcoholic versions. Best of the lot is O’Douhl’s Amber, followed by Busch NA.

BigNik, I likes what I see there.

For pure availability I’d include Coopers Sparklng, I prefer James Squires Indian Pale Ale and for my exotic I’d plump for Chimay.

I think we should link up with TheLoadedDog convene some QA society as a matter of some urgency.

Guiness and Bass, but only on tap. I used to like buying Grolsch, but not since they changed from a ceramic to a plastic, um, stopper holder? It’s just not the same. More votes for Fuller ESB and Brooklyn Lager. And on a very hot summer day, with burgers on the grill, an ice cold long-neck Bud definitely hits the spot.

It’s all microbrews for me,

Grant’s perfect porter (northwest) has a chocolatey flavor, mmmm

Alaskan Amber - nice and flavorful
Bachelor bitter - another northwest favorite

Kansas city has a pretty good brewery called Boulevard, they used to make an ale “ten penny ale” that was wonderfully flavorful and complex
their “pale ale” is like a little brother to the ten penny as far as flavor goes, and is pretty good stuff. I also like their porter and stout, their wheat beer if there is a slice of fruit in it

The philosophy is, if I’m gonna poison myself, I might as well have really good quality poison.

capy in my midwestern experience, most folk oogle over Chimay, and talk as tho Trappist were theie 2d religion. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of Belch beers - but if you’re buying …

One I forgot - Abita. Especially Turbodog. Contributed to some of my fondest memories from a trip to the Big Easy.

I’m a big fan of Abita too. I’ll always take a turbodog if they have it, but Amber will do in a pinch. I’ve been meaning to try Andygator. Apparently it has quite a kick.

Bell’s Amber Ale. Unfortunately, it’s only available in seven midwestern states, so I can’t get it here. But whenever I’m in the midwest, I head for a bar with Bell’s on tap. Um-um good!

I was weaned on Miller High Life and now that my belly is bigger, I drink “Lite Beer from Miller”.

I do remember enjoying Genny Cream Ale (aka Nectar of the Gods"), in my formitive years of drinking. Alas, they do not sell here in SE Missouri.

Rolling Rock, the alcoholic geologist

A black and tan type called Mississippi Mud, Mississippi Brewing Co., Utica NY

The Detroit border crossers go to Windsor Ontario and get an irish beer called Smithwick’s (pronounced smith-icks) that is great, but I have never seen it in the states. Does anybody know where I can get some of that?

I also enjoy Labatt Blue and Molson Golden.

Sam Adams, Saranac, and Samuel Smith’s Oatmeal Stout.
