I am a native of the Pacific. Very dark brown eyes.
Blue that changes color. At a distance they usually look blue-gray, up close blue-green, and they change from that depending on mood, what I’m wearing and/or how much sleep I’ve gotten.
Brown eyes, but more between amber and dark brown. Dark enough that I’m placed under “brown eyes” in my homeland, light enough that a friend from Brazil commented on my “light eyes”, compared to his almost-black eyes.
Thanks to my mom, the green-eyed beauty!
Blue, sometimes tending towards grey, but mostly blue.
According to the wikipedia article, I’m gray. My wife and son very clearly have blue eyes and she always claims that I have blue eyes. However, I claim them as blue-green and not very distinctive which matches the description for gray perfectly.
According to that article, mine are closest to hazel, but unless you look closely they usually look brown, sometimes amber.
I am pretty sure this is what they are thinking right now.
That’s just the way the spooky little shits are.
I hadn’t even noticed the Wiki article in the OP until after I posted above, but this about nails it:
Sorta this.
Sorta this too.
I voted Heterochromia, within both eyes (partial). I’d never heard of heterochromia before, but now I have an explanation for the weird colouring of my eyes! I have central heterochromia in both eyes, exactly like the picture of the eye in the wiki article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterochromia); brown/gold in the centre turning into blue in the outer ring. Thanks for fighting my ignorance!
I have partial heterochromia, with a fleck of dark brown in one of my eyes; since my eyes are a greenish-brownish color, it’s not as noticeable.
Hazel. I’ve been told by others they range from blue to grey to green, and they have a golden ring around the pupil that someone told me looked like a sunflower.
Mine a geen, with a bit of brown around the pupil. Unfortunately my kids both got mom’s brown eyes. Nothing wrong with brown eyes; but I just think light-colored eyes are more interesting.
Reminds me of when my cousin came home to visit and told her mother she was seeing seriously two men, and could not make up her mind which one she would possibly want to marry. One guy was brown/brown, the other was blond/blue. My aunt spoke her mind: “Pick the blond guy! Your babies will be adorable. Every cow in the barn has brown eyes!” Going on that, and all other things being equal, she did, and they are!
My eyes are hazel; a brown green mix with flecks of gold. Seems like they’re getting browner as I get older, which is sad because they’ve always been my best feature. Now I’m like every other cow in the barn.
Mine are blue, with a darker blue ring around the outside and each eye has a small brown spot in them. I have been complimented on them before but to me they’re just kind of meh.
They’re still green on my driver’s license, so that’s what I put, but they’ve been gradually going more hazel, just like my dad’s.
I just skimmed over that in the OP’s article because I didn’t think it applied to me but that’s what my eyes look like, yellow-gold in the center and green on the outside with flecks of brown.
Not just blue, but glacial blue. Hey, it’s gotten me laid.
??? What color is the top right example in the linked Wikipedia article section titled “Spectrum of Eye Color”? That’s me. Is that hazel or green? I’m between their specific Green and Hazel examples. I guess I should say hazel, but mostly because the definition is vague and variable. ???
