Wow, Nobody is looking foward to Halo 3 but me? Guess the line won’t be too long in getting it then
Well, no one but me seems interested in any of the new MMORPG’s coming out in the next year or so.
Looks like the big line will be for Spore based on this thread so far…

Already have my Halo 3 Legendary set pre-ordered. Can’t wait to get my hands on that mini-helmet.
Fallout 3 (half looking forward to, half dreading)
Spore
Starcraft 2
Dragon Age
Warhammer MMORPG
Bioshock
Looking forward to it, but this thread is for computer games not console games. We can talk about Halo 3 for PC in about four years.
My list:
Call of Duty 4
Fallout 3
Bioshock
Hellgate: London
Crysis
Starcraft 2
I heard that Spore got pushed back “indefinitely”.
I also want the Total War expansion pack/TR mod
Fallout 3 looks amazing, but I don’t think there’s a computer alive that can handle it.
StarCraft 2 looks REALLY sweet, but I’ve got the feeling that it’ll take a while. I’m guessing it’ll be Christmas of '08 for that game.
They published a couple of small, new Duke Nukem Forever photos in this video game magazine I got.
According to this July 10, 2007 interview, Patrick Buechner, the Maxis VP of Marketing, said that the new release date is looking be something like April, 2008.
I just bet all the zombies in Hellgate: London have American accents. Even so it looks ace. Put me down for that one.
Fallout 3 of course.
Now I’m off to look up those other games and see if I like the look of em.
Also Blacksite: Area 51 has proper Co-op apparently, so that’s gonna be fun.
Assassin’s Creed is definitely on top, though I’ll probably get it on the PS3 and not the computer. It’s looking wickedly awesome, and I hope the real experience is as seamless as the videos make it out to be. It should be smooth, and hopefully not disturbed by RPG (D&D) stat elements, the action and the pacing flowing. After all the work they’ve put down, let’s hope so
After that, Bioshock. Oh yes. Judging by the movies and gameplay trailers they’ve shown, I can hardly see how it can be a disappointment per se, and it would be a very high fall from grace indeed. As of now, it’s all the fuel my action-hungry dreams need
Third, but certainly not last, I’m deliriously expecting the M:TW II expansion and the M:Total Realism II mod. Oh yeeessssss, precious, England is MINE!
Me too. My current computer is five years old, so my plan is to buy a new system based on the requirements for this game. I was a big SimCity fan and am really looking forward to Spore. And someone else mentioned SimCity Societies, which I hadn’t heard of but will probably buy when it’s released.
I’ve personally given up on it. I just don’t think about it anymore. If it comes out, great, but I can’t keep this enthusiasm for long. It’s been what, two years now?
Yeah, Spore is next year at the very least, and I’d be shocked if SC2 wasn’t next year as well. I think Vanguard is going to be my MMO game for this year… with all of its flaws, I’m not enamored with anything else on the horizon.
Right now, the only two games that look like must-buys for me are the two big expansions: Beyond the Sword for Civ 4, and Mask of the Betrayer for NWN2. Everything else is wait-and-see.
In the console game realm - since it looks like we’ve devolved to that whether we want to or not - Fire Emblem for the Wii is probably the app that will make me buy that system, assuming they can be found with reasonable effort by the time it comes out. This paragraph, from the GameSpot preview, absolutely clinches it:
Someone should split this off to a “What console games are you looking forward to this year?” thread.
Fallout 3
Crysis
Spore (maybe)
The Sims 2: Bon Voyage
Bioshock
ETA: and possibly Sim City Societies. I’ll have to wait and see on that one.
Half-Life 2: Episode 2 (episodic content will allow us to release segmented chapters every six months! Oh wait, make that every two years)
Portal looks sublime.
Left 4 Dead
Hellgate: London looks like it could be either amazing or a bomb. Since a lot of makers of Diablo II are behind the wheel I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.
Starcraft 2 isn’t coming out this year. I’d be surprised if it came out in 2008 too. But yeah, sign me up please…as long as Blizz doesn’t totally mess it up. SC was as close to perfection as an RTS can come. But even if its multiplayer is messed up that’s fine, I just want to see the continuation of the campaign storyline. What happens to Miss Kerrigan?
SimCity Societies looks interesting but it’s not SimCity 5. I don’t think you can make the massive cities of SimCity 4.
We all seem to have similar tastes. My list:
Fallout 3 (I read the Game Informer article, it does seem like Bethesda will get it right)
Assassin’s Creed
Bioshock
Hellgate: London
Spore
Combat Mission: Shock Force. Been waiting years for a new engine for the series. The previous games are, by far, the best wargames of their type, and possibly the best non-simulation wargames of all time. The videos from the new one make it look a little too much like an RTS but the developers have a history of really getting details right and such so I’m optimistic.
Fallout 3, definitely. Spore at some point.
What did the article say?
Pretty much that they’re not taking it lightly and they’re pulling out all the stops. They realize that Fallout 2 (I never played it) wasn’t broken, so there’s nothing major to change.
Edited to Add: I never heard of Sim City Societies, but I’m looking forward to it now.
