Bethesda is keeping all the things that make Fallout what it is: the SPECIAL character system, the retro-future setting, the complex, branching plot, the ability to be a beacon of light or a twisted psychopath, and a crapload of cool gadgets and weapons. The only thing I’m worried about is that the combat system will be first person and real time with pausing, sort of like Knights of the Old Republic (although that was third person). It’s still based on your character stats, so it shouldn’t be too twitchy, but it might have less tactical depth than the first two games.
If anyone is interested (as I am) in Hellgate, here is the latest preview on Gamespy. Looks like its due out in October (in theory) and…well, it looks pretty damn cool to me.

How could I forget about Left 4 Dead? Zombie apocalypse game with co-op and you can play as the freaking zombies? Sign me up right now! Between that and CoD4, I guess I can just kiss my free time goodbye for the near future.
