What PC (or other) games are you looking forward to in '08

I was just reading GameSpy’s Most Wanted 50 games for '08 and wondering what folks on the 'dope are looking forward to this year.

Myself, I’m looking forward to Warhammer Online, the new Soul Storm (Warhammer 40k) expansion, the new Total War Empire game (assuming it comes out this year) and Star Craft II which should be a total blast. Also, I might get the Rome version of Europa Universalis when it comes out…that might be fun as I enjoyed the last one a lot.

What about you 'dopers? What games are you wanting this year (feel free to comment on more than PC games).

Spore! <sigh> I know…<kicks dirt and shuffles off>

Spore! was one of the games that made the top 50 on the GameSpy countdown. It’s not one of the games I’ve been following…what is it that you like about it?

Spore, of course.

I’m also anticipating Alan Wake, from the same folks who did Max Payne.

How about Fallout 3 (like it is going to ship this year :stuck_out_tongue: )?

American Mcgee is doing a series for Gametap, a fractured fairy tale set of games. I can’t wait to experience his twisted take on classic stories again.

And of course, Duke Nukem Forever.

Fallout 3 (unless Bethesda just completely screws this one up, it’s a definite)
Spore (maybe)
WoW: Wrath of the Lich King

If I get an Xbox360, maybe Alan Wake and Silent Hill 5. A few Wii titles might attract my attention, but not much of any system is really blowing my skirt up this year.

Sins of a solar empire coming out on my b-day!

Also assasin’s creed for PC, Fallout 3, Total War Empire, and Star Craft II.

:smack: How could I forget Sins of a Solar Empire?!? Yeah, that is going to be a must have this year…no doubt.

I’m starting to look forward to Baroque from Atlus. I have no idea about the gameplay, but the art style and background are very interesting, and Atlus has been known to produce some good (if rather odd) games.

I’m looking forward to the Penny Arcade game. I love Tycho’s writing and I hope he delivers in a video game as well.

Penny Arcade Game: I was privy to a one-on-one demo of the game during PAX, and it’s shaping up to be pretty damn interesting. Can’t wait to play it.

Far Cry 2: This game looks awesome; it’s doing some really unique things that I haven’t seen in any game before.

More Splinter Cell games. I can’t get enough.

Edit: And GTA4 for the PC

GTA 4 and the next Resident Evil.

The new Dawn of War game, hells yes.
Fallout 3, assuming it isn’t totally fucked.
Excited about the new Total War game, but barring a new computer as a wedding gift (and the free cash to pull off that wedding) I’m not sure I’ll even be able to run the sucker.

Edit: I’m temperamentally drawn to the Warhammer Fantasy game, but what I’ve seen just doesn’t do it for me. It’d take a lot for me to switch MMO’s from EVE.

Definitely! I’m looking forward to it a lot.

Also:

“Obscure 2” - Self-aware Survival Horror game that gives nods to teen slasher flicks -and it’s $19.99!

“Professor Layton” for the DS - steampunky puzzle/adventure game that I thought was never going to get released over here

GTA4, obviously

Army of Two

Fallout 3 (but poop on it being a FPS)

It looks pretty good though I wasn’t able to get in the beta of this one (don’t know any of the programmers at Mythic anymore unfortunately). I think it will definitely be worth a look though. I’m currently playing Tabula Rasa myself…I’ll definitely be ready for a switch to a new MMO by the time this one comes out.

Spore
GTA
Duke Nukem Forever
Fallout
StarCraft
Medieval 3

Man, I still have to catch up on games to play from '07. This is all happening too quickly!

Got any more information on that Roman Europa Universalis game?

I’ll try and get a link for it when I get home tonight…I think I read it on IGN or GameSpy. It looked pretty cool…pretty much like the last one but during the Roman period.

Lego Indiana Jones
Star Wars: Force Unleashed

Yes, I’m George Lucas’s bitch.
