What do you carry on you everyday?

A pager. That’s all. And I only carry that cause I need it for my job. Once I leave here next month, I will happily leave it behind.

In my pockets,

  • keys
  • a stone
  • coins

In my bag,

  • sunglasses
  • water
  • mobile phone
  • passport
  • medicine
  • pen
  • wallet with money in:),
    credit cards,
    blockbuster card,
    safeway card
    and a picture of Montfort

Ten bucks in change, a five-dollar bill, a chunk of jet, a chapstick, a silver gel pen, my wallet, two lighters, a pack of matches (hey, you never know when the transit bus might break down and we’ll have to light a fire for survival), a DB9-DB25 adapter (hey, howcum I have that? Musta picked it up off the floor), and two necklaces.

Shirt pocket - cigarettes and lighter. American flag pin on shirt pocket.

Right front pants - medium bic black ballpoint pen, 95 cents change, comb

Left front pants - two sets of keys. usually one but partner and I changed vehicles at lunch so I have my set of his car keys plus my truck keys which also have my work keys on the same key ring.

Belt - pager and cell phone.

Left back pocket - wallet with various credit cards etc. and 3 one dollar bills! hehheh partner musta forgot to look in my wallet for money today.

  1. Right front pocket: Two sets of keys, one for home (3 keys) and one for my office (5 keys)
  2. Left front pocket: Change (today’s budget: 79 cents)
  3. Clipped to right front pocket: An alpha-numeric pager for my job
  4. Back right pocket: My wallet, a brown leather tri-fold Vans wallet that contains: license, bank card, 96WAVE promotion card, ins/dental cards, SS card, my friend’s business card which simply says “The Devil”, laundry card, Blockbuster card, my other friend’s business card, a concert ticket from seeing my little bro’s band open for RATT, 2 bands’ business cards, a ticket from Jane’s Addiction, my SO’s cell phone and home phone numbers, and a tiny ziploc bag with a chunk of the Berlin Wall in it.
  5. Hanging on my neck: Plastic photo ID badge, required since 9/11.
  6. In that useless pocket in my right front pocket: A button from the SO’s favorite shirt that broke. (why I have this is beyond me.)

On a daily basis…

Wallet (back right)
Keys (ever popular Mini Leatherman utility knife attachment keychain), usually mints, gum, candy, something like that, pen/pencil, change and usually a couple dollar bills, and invariably a receipt or wrapper or some type of garbage like that. All this in the pockets up front.

In my front left pocket I carry my house and car keys. In my front right pocket I carry my money. In my purse I have:
[list]
[li]chapstick[/li][li]lipstick[/li][li]lipgloss[/li][li]overgirl compact[/li][li]covergirl all in one foundation[/li][li]nail file[/li][li]nail clippers[/li][li]lotion[/li][li]anti-bacterial lotion[/li][li]pictures[/li][li]a mini brush[/li][li]a whistle[/li][li]a couple pens[/li][li]cell phone[/li][li]a pill bottle containing benadryl, excedrin, midol, tylenol, and aleve[/li][li]a camera[/li][li]hair ties[/li][li]money[/li][li]matches[/li][li]my license[/li][li]my Social Security card[/li][li]Sunglasses[/li][li]Halls cough drops[/li][li]Altoids[/li][li]Moist Towlettes[/li][li]Band-aids[/li][li]Reeds[/li][li]Small bottle of tabasco[/li][li]Ben gay[/li]

At the moment, I have a quarter in my right front pocket. Usually, I keep whatever money I’m going to use that day in one of my front pockets.

In my backpack I have:

  • my wallet with money, driving permit, phone card, and assorted other bits of paper with e-mail addresses and cell phone numbers inside
  • all of my pens and pencils
  • a few candy bar wrappers
  • my regular house keys and my spare key for my mom’s house
  • two rolls of film I need to get developed
  • a bunch of face wipes
  • a tube of lip balm and a pot of lip balm
  • a half-empty pack of Kleenex
  • three or four books to read for fun
  • a French/English dictionary and a copy of Harry Potter in French (which I really could take out, since my class finished it up last week)
  • all my textbooks and notebooks
  • a logic puzzles book
  • a notebook with several stories and random bits of writing in it
  • my mouthpiece and music
  • whatever else I feel like tossing in, which is usually just a soda or a pack of peanuts to eat later
  • my graphing calculator occasionally

I have lots of little junk in my backpack. It all gets tossed around, so I’m never really sure what’s in there.
My purse just has a tube of lip balm in it. If I take it anywhere, I toss my wallet in also.

Right pocket - keys, ball point pen.

Left pocket - change, chapstick (during the spring, summer, and fall, sans the chapstick).

Right back pocket - wallet.

And, FTR, I’m right handed.

In my purse I carry keys, wallet (cards, cash, coins), lipstick, mobile phone, sunglasses and panadol on an everyday basis.

Let’s see, I don’t usually carry much in my pockets.
In my purse’s front pocket:
Cherry Chapstick
Cell phone
a rock

In the purse:
Wallet
Keys
two pens (one blue and one black)
change purse
Imitrex auto-injector kit (migraine medicine)
small brush
small Kleenex pack
bottle of Target-brand Advil
little address book with phone numbers
Scooby-Doo band-aids
wet wipes
four crayons (blue, red, green and purple)
two rocks
three Hot Wheels cars (ambulance, Mercedes and a police car)

In the bag I carry back and forth to school each day:
Lesson plan book
Folders with lesson ideas
“The Mailbox” magazine
extra construction paper, various colors
Bottle of Elmer’s glue
several Sharpies
Pens
Colored pencils
Scissors
Circle cutter
Ziploc bag with about 40 craft sticks (popsicle sticks)

Other stuff always with me:
Gold wedding band & engagement ring
Signet ring with family crest
Watch (Omega, gold and stainless)
Sterling heart bracelet hubby gave me when we started dating
Gold scarab bracelet
2 gold “Figaro” link bracelets, slightly different

I seem to be relatively unique:

Left pocket:
[ul][li]Spare Car Key, with a pocketknife on the keyring[/li][li]All credit cards, kept together with a rubber band.[/ul]Right Pocket:[/li][ul][li]Car/House/Work Keys[/li][li]Leatherman Micra, with scissors and blade and screwdriver.[/li][/ul]Back Pocket (alternate left or right)
[ul][li]Very thin wallet, containing $92.[/ul]Note:[/li]Two sets of car keys can mean the difference between a catastrophe or no big deal.

Two pocketknives is just showing off

Also, keeping all the credit cards/ID in the front pocket makes the wallet much more thin, which saves on back pocket wear. It also keeps my back from getting sore for some reason.

On me personally:
-train pass
-about $5
-one of those neck things that holds my key and punch in card for work
-cell phone

In my bag:
-notebook
-CD player
-about 50 spare pens
-extra shirt, in case I want to go somewhere straight from work
-my old cell phone
-wallet, containing:
-about $100 cash
-my ATM card, and my visa card
-my driver’s license
-various club cards, library cards, discount cards and probably expired gift cards
-really old pictures of Sean, Amanda, Gaea, Steven, and Ben, some friends from Florida. a recent picture of Rashad, from the last time I saw him
-ticket stubs to a couple of movies I saw that I wanted to remember
-a Canadian coin, and a Canadian $20 bill that I saved from when I drove up to see Sean in Ottowa over the summer
-and my personal fave, a song Scott wrote about me back in 1999, before we complicated our relationship and things got all weird. It makes me smile every time I read it…
