What Do You Like Now That You Hated When You Were A Kid?

Cole Slaw(although I still don’t like the sweet kind)

Spinach(btw it still doesn’t make me stronger and I resented being lied to by Popeye(always wanted Brutus to kick his a__ after that.))

My wife likes raw oysters now(it took me forever to get her to try’em.

Well what about ya’ll by the way what is the right place for the apostrophe y’all or ya’ll? I used to do it y’all then somebody told me that was wrong and so then I started doing it ya’ll. So which is it?

Girls.

Hi Bill!

For me it was hamburgers. I would NOT eat hamburgers when I was a kid, or cheeseburgers. I hated them.

Now, I love them.

I was a strange kid.

Come to think of it, I’m kind of a strange adult.

And I believe it’s y’all (you all).

Going to bed early.

Dammit, KKB, you beat me to it.

And it is y’all. (Ya’ll makes no sense, and it pains me even to type it.)

Violent movies

Tragedy

Mayonnaise

Naps.

olives
stilton
sardines
brussels sprouts
spinach
plain cheerios
smurfs
Spandau Ballet

Just to name a few
something I liked as a kid and now hate: cauliflower

As noted in my sammich thread a few days ago: Liverwurst. I thought “worst than liver! No way!”

Now I love it.

coffee (and coffee-flavored things)
olives
peppers (although I’m still not partial to green peppers)
stinky cheeses
raw tomatoes (but they have to be really good)
bitter greens like mustard and dandelion
mushrooms

Things I liked as a kid but don’t like now:

doughnuts
cereal, especially sweet cereal
7-up and similar soft drinks
spaghetti
candy other than chocolate
sleeping in late

Lima beans.

I used to pick them out of the frozen “mixed vegetables” moms always fix. Now, lima beans are one of the few veggies I go out of my way to buy on a regular basis.

Salads
Mushrooms
Tomatoes
Sour cream
Onions
Liver
Lima beans
Soy sauce

Breasts.

(OK, I liked them when I was REALLY young, but then for a while I just didn’t see the appeal.)

I didn’t like to take baths. Luckly I grew out of that one and now regularly use all the hot water in the house.

I also didn’t like wine. I remember getting to drink a little bit of wine on special occasions and wondering why grownups liked it so much. The same with coffee.

Salads, I thought lettuce was yucky.

For the flip side, Mr WildestBill, I LOVED bologna when I was a kid and even the SIGHT of it now, makes me sick. Human beans are so weird!!

Spinach is the only vegetable I eat.

And if it wasn’t for Popeye, I wouldn’t even be eating that.

Spicy food.

Although thai-style curry is still too much for my poor mouth!

Mushrooms are the spawn of hell.
