Why did the Frenchman dynamite his kitchen floor?

Worked, came home, napped. Made chipolte BBQ chicken for dinner. It’s Oktoberfest beer season, which means football(and more imporantly hockey) season is just around the corner.
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
He’ll use it as an excuse to spend more time at the Harley dealership.;)
Not at all. I still got room in my handbasket, if you need a ride.
Or tip the veal and try your waitress.
Just don’t drop Doc, or you’ll get reamed.
I tried that waitress but I just gave her the tip.
(Where’s Ed McMahon when you need him?)
Good morning! The storms have passed, but lots of parts in this area had some severe flooding. Enough that a couple of schools are closed! First time I ever head of that hereabouts…
That’s pretty much all. Happy Wednesday!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. It’s my Firday.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and cloudy (OK, dark) with a predicted high of 90 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. TWPTB say no rain in the forecast so I should probably go out and build an Ark. Today is grocery day. Ima go to the Pubic Sto’ and the Harvey’s Sto’ this mornin’. The Harvey’s Sto’ first cause What I’ll get there are non-perishables. I foresee shrimpies ‘n grits for sup. Vegetative matter TBD. Hopefully the Pubic Sto’ will have some nice fresh asparagus cause I kinda want me some spareguts.
All you would be comedians deserve a rimshot.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas, since I am to go out and about, I shall purtify and don the appropriate adult clothin’. Such bother!
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
Happy Hump Day!
It’s a cool but humid outside. Supposed to get up to 81 today.
All y’all cracking me up, which is a good think since I am tired and cranky this morning. Not enough sleep.
One load done washing this morning and ready to go into the dryer. Cast iron griddle is seasoning in the oven. Cat has been let in, fed, and let back out. Dog has been let out a few times and has gone back to bed. Son is still sleeping and bills have been paid. My son finished the drug and alcohol classes yesterday. Now we are waiting for his books to get here. I don’t know why it costs so much money to ship them, I thought the PO had a flat rate of $5 for books.
They do, but transit time is not good.
“Postage is determined by package weight. A typical paperback (weighing between 4 ounces and up to one pound) costs $2.66 to send by MediaMail postal rate. A heavier book (a large hardcover) weighing between 1 and 2 pounds will cost $3.17 to send by Media mail.”
They are probably shipping at a faster rate. Of course, they may be pocketing the difference.
They are using UPS, $21.95 for three books.
I think we have to sign for them too.
Still cheaper and easier than driving out to Frostburg to pick them up.
When I went to AACC books were shipped for a flat $5.
The college still has not transferred his funds to his credit account with them. It was supposed to be done today. I get that school starts Monday and they are busy, but I am not impressed with or have a lot of confidence in them.
Then again, I am anal about such things.
Not good communication either. The bookstore said to enter all 8 digits of his account number, but the account number is his student id number, which has only 7 digits. Could be a typo, could be a screw up, could be nobody knows wtf they are doing.
We can’t get into his student account because the web page says we hav the wrong password, but the forgot password button doesn’t work.
Morning all. The tile folks haven’t been back yet, but the tree removers are back to deal with the tree stump in my neighbor’s yard and seem to have brought a small regiment with them.
Weather is cloudy and somewhat cooler (84F for the high), coaching the 6-year old girls tonight for the first time, hope it goes well. Got my 12U boys roster and e-mailed them for Firday practice and still need to get the girl’s 12U roster so I can hope to practice Thursday. And then all three teams will play on Saturday. Oh joy.
Sari, good luck with the books; and colleges are more like businesses these days, and you know how well companies are organized and run…
swampy, I also need to do adult stuff, but I have a shirt and shorts on, so I am as dressed as I need to be (well, do need to add socks).
doggio, ruble, spidey I think you visit a Comedy Club–but only as spectators, please.
She died yesterday morning. BiL emailed me in the afternoon stating such, I immediately replied, with some of the funeral details (I knew day & place, but not time yet (at that point), which is why I hadn’t said anything to him yet; I was waiting for the details. He thought he was giving me information, when I already knew more than him.
So, hecklers? :o
I is (I think) going out after irk, started to walk downstairs w/ sneakers in hand (for after irk) & work/dress socks on my feet. I had a pair of footwear, but never put on irk shoes. :smack:
I’ve been trying to eat less fast food lately, so I’ve been eating lean cuisines and packing my own lunch. But today, there’s a trade show going on in our cafeteria, so the options for eating lunch are at your desk (which I hate doing), hunting down an empty conference room, or going out to lunch.
The weather is gorgeous, so I’m going out.
Now I just need to decide where to go: Arby’s, Burger King, McDonald’s, Taco Bell or Jimmy John’s. I didn’t eat breakfast today, so I’m at the point where I’m like “just give me food; I don’t care from where!”
Only if the bouncer’s name is “Tiny”
And more seriously, my condolences to your friend on his loss.
Juliet, I am a big fan of Jimmy Johns, but then I’m a big fan of eating, as anyone who sees me can tell…
Tile guys are here and working on the kitchen, and the tree folks are not digging up the stump, they are taking down another big tree in the neighbor’s yard. So everybody is working but me (and that’s the way I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh)
I am awake. Dogs have been walked and fed. I am imbibing coffee and trying to face the day. Mornings. blurf.
Howdy Y’all! Provisions have been procured. Actually this mornin’ I’ve just been futzin’ around since then. We shall sup upon shrimpies and grits and leftover beans and peas cause they need to get et up. 'Tis pleasant out but cloudy so I did not have quality cee-mint pond time.
{{{Spidey}}} sorry about your friend.
Hugs from me as well Spidey. I missed that detail the first time. I was distracted by you sneaking around with your sneakers. :o
It is sad that in our great country, some of the elderly do not have enough to eat.
Much of this afternoon has been a waste. I had to do a simple change on a drawing, but it’s taking for-freekin’-ever to get it done. Long waits to go from page to page, long waits to create .PDF and .DWG files, and now I’m waiting for it to print. I swear, I spent 3 times the amount of time waiting as I did making the change.
On the other hand, I get to leave in half an hour. So, what to do for supper???
I suddenly had a craving for mozzarella sticks, so off to Arby’s I went. One turkey and bacon sandwich and an order of mozzarella sticks later, I’m back at my desk, slogging through the afternoon. It was so gorgeous out when I left that it took all my will power to return. It is gently breezy, about 74, sunny… ugh, it was so hard to come back to my desk.
Swampy is apparently eating a near starvation diet of left over legumes.
