What do you prefer in a man/woman, long or short hair?

Definite preference for longer hair on a woman.

For a man? Who cares?

I’ve only gone out with one man/woman, but if I remember correctly, she/he had long blonde hair.

I LOVE long hair on women. But I agree somewht with monfort that “pixie-like” women look pretty good w/ short hair. Some folks tell women that shorter hair make you look “slimmer”, and in a way that is right- if you are thinish, with LOTS of hair, a haircut will make you look smaller. But if you are zaftig/rubenesque/voluptous, making your hair short does not make you look “thin” or thinner, or anything like that. Grow your hair long & straight, and THAT will make you look “thinner”.

My Fiance likes long hair, so I have very long hair, back in a ponytail.

Slythe: umm, with only one “notch” in your belt, how’d you get such a low “purity score”. My belt is completely whittled away, and you scored LOWER?!?

The mullet and dork tails are a definite no-no in my book.

*Dork tail: a small part of the hair on the lower hairline that forms a “tail.”

I didn’t have to ask anyone, spoke, the information was volunteered. Absolutely EVERYONE said something along the lines of: “You cut your hair! It looks much better this way.”

Trust me on this one, OK?

My sister calls that a “dork knob” - where there is this little itty bitty “ponytail-knob” thing in the back.

I have long hair, I always intend to. When I get REALLY old and creaky (like I’m not old enough already!) I’ll just wear it up. But, some women look just fine with short hair. I just like mine long.

As far as men, I don’t have a special preference for long hair, but it’s OK. Shorter/collar length hair is more my cup of tea. Just so long as there is no tail, dork knob or mullet involved.

As long as it’s clean, I’ve no preference. I have a pretty generic face, so my hair looks alright whether it’s short or long.

I think it all depends on the shape of a person’s face, personally.

you for me it really depends on the guy, some guys look good with long hair and some just don’t. but i think most guys look good with short hair.

For me, the shorter it is, the better. But, there is a minimum, i dont like the military cut much, but somewhere a bit longer is nice. I dont really find guys with long hair attractive (physically). I usually think “That guy would look so much better with a short hair cut”. Usually if the hair on the top is growing past the brow, then it’s a bit too long.

My hair is no more than 1 inch or so long on the top (i style that part). The rest is kept to 1/8th inch. It used to be much longer, but I decided to cut it very short this summer. I like it this way now, and intend to keep it this way for a while.

Note to Danielinthewolvesden-
It’s not the quantity of perversity that gets you the low score, it’s the quality. It’s sort of like the stock market. Diversify!

On younger women, say under 60, longer hair really floats
my boat. But of course, there are always exceptions.

On men?..what?..who?..why would I care.

I really think it depends on the guy,I like long and short hair.If it looks good and he likes it- that’s what matters.

I’m one of those women that look better with short hair. And I like it better.I don’t spend an hour fixing it before I go out and it’s sexy, too. My selfconfidience soars when my hair is short.

I’m glad to see that there are guys here that admit that they actually prefer women with short hair.I think to often men feel that they are suppose to find long hair more attractive.

I have often had women stop me in stores and on the street and say,"I like your hair!"Or “Wow,I wish I had the courage to cut my hair that short!” And Men love it. I find it very liberating.

I have quite a weakness for longhaired men. The longer the better. I’d really love to date someone with waist-length hair sometime, I bet it would be tons o’ fun! (Did I mention I’m possibly the most tactile person here?)

Having said that though, I would never ever turn a guy down just because he has short hair, would never ever date a guy solely because he has long hair, and I agree with the above posts that said some people just can’t get away with having longer locks. And as for mullets and “rat-tails” - BLECCH!

And FWIW, my hair just reaches my bra strap but I’d like it to be about 6 inches longer like it used to be before I went overboard with the frosting - criminey, never, ever again! What WAS I thinking?

Short hair. Definitely. No question. I have a serious fetish for short hair.

On women, that is.

In a man/woman, I prefer long hair. Otherwise the sexual cues are just entirely too ambiguous.

Just because a woman has long hair doesn’t mean she wears it DOWN. I’m a “woman of a certain age” and I have long hair, but I always wear it up in a chignon. I have gorgeous hair, but I look terrible with it down, like an aging hippie. So I go for the Gibson Girl look.

I actually find long hair (on men and women) to be repulsive. I used to have long hair and know all about it. So I’m knocking having tried it.

Men with ponytails or the 70’s rocker look - forget it! That is the ultimate in gross outdatedness. Even Metallica got haircuts!

Great! …As long as you know when to let it down!

I wish I could have long hair. Unfortunately, I inherited my grandfather’s hair, curley, but not in ringlets, just big and poofy. And, yes, I do know how to use gel and mouse, but it’s really thin, curley hair, which is the worst. Anyway, I’ve tried growing my hair out multiple times, and it just grows OUT, not down. Think Roseanne Roseannadanna. So nothing longer than shoulder length, just because I can’t stand not being able to put it up in a ponytail.

As for the fellas, short. Definately short. But as I have a professed weakness for the punk/skater guys, that gelled-spikey thing works for me, too. And that thing where thier hair is supershort over their head, and then they do the dippity-doo thing with their bangs, yummy.

That’s what i’m talking about. I like that too, short and spiky. I also like the highlighted hair with it (or lightened a few shades).

You mean the hair is gelled forward (and kept down) for most of the top and then the front is gelled up? Well, that’s how my hair is (a style i wanted when I saw it, and got in june ;)). Or, do you mean it’s cut really close for most of the hair, and just the bangs are longish and gelled up?
