What do you think happened to the following villains in the Old Man Logan universe after the US was taken over and divided?
Purple Man, Carnage, Hyde, Controller, Leader, Mad Thinker, the U-Foes and Flag Smasher.
Are there any villains you would like to know the fates of in the setting or have an idea regarding their fates?
I strongly suspect that most of them were killed during the first generation of Villain leaders, before things got quite so wild. Especially the controllers/planners among them: Purple Man, Controller, Leader and Mad Thinker could be a risk to the new powers at the top, as well as each other. Almost all dead as the “states” get established.
Carnage is very aggressive, often unwilling to cooperate, and unable to exercise a lot of self control. Killed because it wouldn’t stop challenging those who are more powerful than they are, and too poor at working with others to find safety and support in groups.
Hyde is somewhat similar, being untrustworthy and self-centered when working with other villains. He could go either way, depending on how low a profile he was willing to go. Could be killed by Osborn over their older beef, or could be setting himself up as a local/regional drug lord with his biochemical skills.
Flag Smasher(s)? Seemed to mostly live to be a rebel against the USA and Captain America especially. With both gone, he’d find himself a rebel without a cause, amongst more powerful, better organized villains. With so many many iterations, hard to tell. Most likely though he’d pick a fight with one of the neo-dictators and get squashed like a bug. Probably dead, or at best retired and irrelevant.
U-Foes? Depends. Did they ever go after Hulk out of a sense of revenge or proving they were first tiers after all? If so, dead. OML hulk is NOT to be messed with. Otherwise, they seemed willing to work with whomever was offering a decent deal, and are probably mid-bosses in a region under one of the bigger bosses. As a team they can cover for each other, have a basic loadout of role types, and no strong rivalries as I recall. Doing pretty well for themselves, though their position may be under threat of the next generation of ambitious villains looking for a place.
A lot of villains would be dead for the same reason a lot of ordinary folks would be: Not because they were a specific threat or nemesis to anyone, but just because they were in the way.
