What do you think of the new Drambuie commercial?

looks like 60’s ‘found film’ featuring what some consider a hot girl in 60’s drag hitting a drum cymbal at the end of a commercial jingle. I LOVE it.

reported.

I’m not sure if the account got hijacked and this is just bad spam, or if the poster actually meant to post a one-liner about an alcohol ad, but I went ahead and reported it just in case.

This is the part where you link the commercial. Link.

Not feeling the love for it.

Sweet jumped up Jesus in a sidecar, I can’t do ANYTHING right. I thought discussion of commercials was allowed. I see it all the time here. F’ing forget it! delete me, ban me I was only asking a stupid. QUESTION. Jesus.

I love the commercial, I think they spot on nailed the '60’s feel. The filter on the camera, the girl spinning around in the seat playing with the drum stick, the music. It’s one of the commercials that I don’t skip if I happen to notice it.

Calm down, you didn’t do anything wrong. Someone just reported thinking it was spam.

It’s not spam and it’s perfectly okay…although I am going to move it to Cafe Society.

Spam is usually associated with someone with only one post about a product made on the same day the poster joined.

I guess my lack of love for it is because I lived through the 60’s and wasn’t as impressed as I should have been with the skill needed to make it look real. It does have a real feel to it.

They totally nailed the look, but for some reason, every time it comes on, I want to burn the commercial with lasers.

Everything looks 60s except the Drambuie bottle - no wax seal or ribbon any more <sob>

ETA: Typo

I love the way that yellowjacketcoder assumed that the OP had created an account and waited 15 years to tout a Drambuie ad.

I love the way you didn’t read my actual post where I assumed his account was hijacked.

Deep cover.

Yeah, it doesn’t take a lot of skill to find a 50 year old super 8 camera and some old film and shoot it. It would probably be harder to get a good print!

Though at the time, the cameras worked better. Not every home movie was crap quality.

Though I do like the look and sound. And the instruments. Though, the girl doesn’t look “period correct”, somehow.

I didn’t really ‘get’ it. I just hear some guys in the background discussing Drambuie and then the girl hits a cymbal and the jingle comes on.

The '60’s feel is kind of neat though.
