What do you want for Christmas?

Not to my way of thinking. I have an intense conviction that one should only keep those animals that one is prepared to give the very best quality of life available to.

There are plenty of pets which require very little in the way of effort, to keep very well. Parrots may put up with poor conditions better than some but that doesn’t mean they should.

My cousin has a stock answer for this type of query :
" a blow up doll and a case of fix-a-flat" in 50 years hes never received it ….
As for me id like a grand or two in cash to pay for a mistake or two ive made recently

I want a complete set of cycling gear for all weather conditions…that fits me. It’s out there (in one or maybe two places) but it’s expensive to procure all at once.

I think $1,000 would outfit me nicely with a kayak and necessary safety gear. I may as well get the roof rack for the car, too.

I’m very, very lucky to not need anything. The chess set would be cool though.

I had started playing chess online, and my Wife got interested in it. So I have been teaching her to play. Not a weekend goes by without her asking to play. We usually fit in about 5 games.

I shouldn’t be surprised at my wife’s competitive spirit. She’s raced 4 full 140 mile IronMan races. I’m the Sherpa/Pit Crew.

Chess, music and beers. Beats the hell out of re-runs on TV.

Since I have had to give up on buying books due to restricted finances, I would like all the cool Art books for the last few Star Wars movies. Not just the pre-prduction art, but amazing coffee table books like this, this, and especially this.

A Blackstar Artist 30 combo Amp. It has dual 12" speakers.

Normally a little over a $1,000 but currently on sale for $600.

That would be a great Christmas gift.

A couple days alone with my wife. Sleeping late, then, um, staying up late. So, I guess a couple nights in a nice hotel and a couple nice dinners out. We could do that for $1000.

I love my kids dearly, but they’ve kind of put a damper on the romance.

Audubon bird a day calendar

Labrys lapel pin

Electric toothbrush

Slippers

I’d love to have my Seamaster DeVille sent back to to Bienne, Switzerland and completely refurbished. $1,000 should just about cover that.

I am fairly certain, no, for sure I can do bird husbandry with success. I am not a quitter. The birds I would look in to could be rescues or bred in captivity. I do not advocate wild caught birds or birds illegally transported to the US. I wouldn’t even consider it if I didn’t think I could do it right.

Nothing, thanks.

2 of Santa’s helpers that are mine for a couple of hours. :smiling_imp:

I’d like a gemstone globe. something like this one.

My manager at work had a gorgeous one (gift from a client), and I burned with envy. However, I hesitate to buy one online, based on a photo.

I’ve asked for a personal locator beacon for Christmas.

I’m nearing completion of a multi-year project to travel some of the Intra Coastal Waterway. I should finish the boat mods next year, I will probably choose that date to retire and start my nautical wandering. In light of that, the PLB seems like a good choice and more useful than the normal grill tools, clothes, etc.

I want to find a nice, bright piano lamp for around a hundred clams. It is weird - the ones I’ve found so far are either too cheap (~$29) or too expensive (>$200).
mmm

Three ounces of primo weed. One ounce of a couch-lock indica, one ounce of a trippy sativa, and one ounce of a middle of the road indica/sativa hybrid.

I am putting that on my Christmas list for real.

I would like that. Sent the link to my wife. The past 5 years I have been making and selling my own advent calendars with micro distillery products from the state of Washington. The cost of making them and selling them at cost has reduced my market to just a few people so I won’t be making any this year. I still haven’t recovered the cost of the bottles and boxes, I still have a bunch of both. Got the idea from a local distillery that still sells them.

That’s awesome, I’d be happy with one of those too.

I also want a weighted blanket, not necessarily this one but something similar:

I have an ancient, falling-apart and sun-faded comforter that I refuse to give up because I love how heavy it is. I like the weight on me when I’m trying to fall asleep even in the summertime.
