When someone refers to “thinking about sex”, as in “Hey guys, how often do you think about sex when you’re typing reports at the office” or “When you daydream of your sweetie, are you thinking specifically about sex” and so on, what does the phrase itself, “thinking about sex”, parse out as for you?
• Fantasizing the actual erogenous zones of your body and/or those of your partner, what they look like, imagining the actual sensations, imagining the moving parts in motion, during the most specifically “we’re doing it” activities?
• Fantasizing in a broader sense a sequence or a series of still-shots involving touching, nibbling, getting aroused, and how it feels to be heading towards “doing it” as well as fantasizing the “doing it” part?
• Only the latter, seldom invoking the really “gettin’ down to business” part but definitely the stroking and nibbling and stimulating?
• Fantasizing more of the preceding context, glowing with attraction for each other and looking at each other and knowing you are both aware of where you are headed, watching your partner glance away or get happy grins or get the giggles about it or play footsie under the table, as well as the more explicit stuff described above?
• Only the latter, seldom invoking in your imaginings the actual actions beyond the very early preliminary touchngs?
• Conjuring up in your mind the other person’s face, body, what the other person looks like, and thus conjuring up your feelings and sexual excitement toward, with maybe some still shots and short video clips of doing things together, only some of which includes “getting sexual” per se?
• Like that except without any such vignettes being played out in the mind, strictly thinking of the other person and feeling the eroticized emotions associated with them?
Which, if any, of the above would to you rather strongly not constitute “thinking about sex”, as in, if you had the sense that that’s what someone else meant when they answered your question about how often they think about sex, you’d say “No, I don’t mean that, I mean, you know, actually think about sex” – ??
