The spirit of the wind.

I’ve been know to wear a kilt. At least 5 or 6 times a year. Got married in one. So there.

Not real original, but not real common either.

“Stoid” is a true life nickname that I have had for almost 25 years that came from my real name. The "ela’ is sometimes added for various reasons. I think I added it here because stoid wasn’t accepted for some reason.

Stoid

Take a look at my sig!

Mine is a minor character for the Wars of Light and Shadow series my Janny Wurts. He was an apprentice of the Fellowship Sorcerers for almost a millenia. Hewas almost done his training. Two years into my PhD program, I kind of emphathized with long training programs. I chose that name for an Amber campaign I played. He was Verrain, Chief Librarian of Amber, later Verrain the First, the Scholar King. Having used it as a second name for two years or so, I’ve kept it, and it is almost never taken.

I am a huge pro wrestling fan and my favorite wrestler is (big surprise) Jeff Hardy…meow kitty kitty

My friend Brian made up a song about me to the tune of Barbie Girl called Hardy Girl.

I changed the spelling of girl to grrl to reflect my love of alternative music.

And besides my nickname IRL,Diva, was already taken :frowning:

I am hardygrrl…hear me roar…

Well, I am a professional wrestler, and “Joey Image” is my ring name.

Well, my aol sig is southreb333, but I didn’t really feel like having “reb” in this sig, so I took it out. My school’s name is South High, and I am kind of attached to it, so it felt right to have “south” in my sig. as for the 3’s… I just like the number.

If you’ve never seen the Hayao Miyazaki anime entitled “My Neighbor Totoro” then you haven’t lived. It’s a classic, especially if you’re under 10. Or have children in that range.

[sub]And Gaspode Rules! I Love Terry Pratchett!

I am a Trainspotting fan (song: Born Slippy)
and the fact that a lot of people tell me that I “seem flakey at first”.
When my boyfriend told me pretty much the same thing but called me dodgy instead that was enough. And I ve been using that name for almost a year, which is terribly long for a flakey person like me… hehe… recently the boyfriend called me a sarcastic monkey, which would be a wicked name too, but I am just too used to dodgy by now.

jayjay = J.J. - the initials of my first and middle names.

Disappointingly prosaic…

And I notice that this thread about us has grown to four pages in two days…that probably says something sociological…

jayjay

I am not going to say what my nick is. For some reason most pople find it ammusing but can’t tell me what the joke means. So here’s my idea, if anyone want’s a new sig line saying that they were the first to figure out my nick, all they have to do is be the first to post the correct interperitation here. Good luck.

Mine came from the movie Witness for the Prosecution. I was watching it at a friends one night and the trailer that was shown at the beginning of the movie said “Marlene Dietrich portrayes an intriguing question mark” and we all thought it was hilarious. Somehow that became my nickname and we all just shortened it to I.Q. but I decided to use the long version here cause I like it better.

I know what OneDollarWilliam’s name means

I have no imagination at all. None. Nada. Thus, the name.

Hiroko. my name. Aoi. blue. Blue Hiroko. if i posted all the handles ive gone under in the last five years, this post would be a whole lot more interesting. but i dont want to type that much. goodnight.
Hiro

Cogito ergo doleo= I think therefore I am depressed

Ahhh, sure this thread is 4 pages long! Doesn’t everyone like to talk about themselves?

Well, I guess I’m guilty as charged.

Theobromine=the naturally occurring methylxanthine in chocolate. The most famous methylxanthine is caffeine, and it is my second favorite. (Not as interested in theophylline, the methylxanthine most beloved of tea-drinkers and asthmatics.) “Methylxanthine Fiend” was just too darn long…

Could have said that “Theobroma Cacao” = cocoa bean, but hey, this is the SDMB! The pompous pontificating place!

Come on, let’s revive this thread. All newbies, start posting.

My nickname actually come from the french word “diablesse” which means “She Devil”. Once, in high school, I wished bad upon someone and she actually broker her leg the next day so everybody started calling me like that. The funny thing is that it wasn’t the only time where I wished bad upon someone and it actually happened, so the nickname really stuck around.
Also, the 55 comes from Morocco (where I was born), it is believed to warn off the “Evil Eye”.

So there,

Be good.
