“Good lord” was my exact reaction to your extreme objection to his 3" of shorts. It was also my reaction to the claim that he looks like a weak punk. Hypercritical. Nitpicky. But if that’s the stated purpose of this thread, then I’ll take that under advisement. Probably should have just ignored the request to state who I DO think is attractive, realizing that this sort of exchange would be the outcome.
I didn’t ask whom you found attractive–maybe somebody else did? I merely posted my opinion on that picture. It has nothing to do with your choices in general.
I find Eastwood attractive, just not in that picture. That’s all there is to it. Obviously, we disagree on this. I’m ok with that.
Pretty much any bodybuilder: Stallone, Schwarzeneggar, Diesl, even Eric Bana and Brendan Fraser when they’re really buff. I like tone on a body, but I can’t stand “super tone”- it’s almost animalistic.
While I’m gay I’ve never understood why any man is attracted to skinny chicks- not even talking about Calista but Courtney Cox, Jennifer Anniston and others who just don’t look healthy.
This is who I was going to mention…but for me it IS the lips. They are just too distracting. it’s like they just kind of overflowed the banks, and not in a good way.
Johnny Depp. No appeal at all.
If you want to talk physique, this is the guy I’ve always admired.
Brad Pitt, though I think he’s gotten better looking as he got older. He’s got…not sure how to describe it…lips like one of those baby dolls that you stuff a bottle in its mouth (as in, there always seems to be a little hole even when his mouth is closed).
Benicio del Toro. I think he’s seriously ugly, but apparently a lot of folks don’t.
Angelina Jolie–Eww. She’s not bad except for those huge lips.
Pamela Anderson and Anna Nicole Smith: Blonde, plastic, overboobed, over-made up…they don’t even quite look human to me.
That guy from “Scrubs”–Zach something? I don’t even like to look at him. Not that he’s ugly, just that there’s something about his face that completely turns me off.
I can’t really find any photo of her that I think looks good. I think I just figured out what it is… her irises are too large maybe? In any case her mouth is too large for her face.
There are people with the opposite phenomenon: people who aren’t conventionally beautiful at all – but are nonetheless hummina hummina hummina. Ellen Barkin in her prime (a la The Big Easy) comes to mind.
Looking at Anne Hathaway throws me into the Uncanny Valley. She’s assembled to be quite beautiful, for a replicant.
Her irises are too large? Irises?
Off with her head!
You’re getting wrapped up in the terminology. The point is that her eyes look freaking bizarre, whatever the reason. My guess is the irises. Imagine the weirdness of an eye that is 100% iris. She’s 80% of the way there.
Daniel Craig in still pictures is not attractive. Daniel Craig in motion is about the sexiest thing ever. He is one of those actors who is sexy because of the total package, not solely because of their features.
Well, Maybe you have a point. As long as she doesn’t do backflips across the living room and then pull my nose off via the nostrils.
I remember a very long and active thread from before Casino Royale came out with a bunch of people who had never seen Danial Craig in a movie, who had only looked at still pictures of him on the net, wailing and gnashing their teeth over how could they choose this “ugly guy” to be James Bond.
Then the film came out, and those people got very quiet. Of course we’re talking Hollywood here, where Jeanene Garafolo is the “ugly one” in a movie. I’d love to look as “ugly” as Daniel Craig
I wasn’t one of the ones who got very quiet. I still think Daniel Craig looks like an ape, and I think the two Bond movies he’s been in have been really terrible (but the latter is more the fault of the directors and writers and less the fault of Craig himself.)
Er… there was no :dubious: meant in what I said. I was just honestly interested in who you found attractive. No judgment there at all - I hardly think that I’m some sort of expert on great looking movie stars.
Penelope Cruz seems to have some sort of explosive blackmail material that’s given her control over the entire world’s media. How else can you explain why every article about her refers to her beauty, and not one contains the words “rat-faced”? If they say she’s beautiful often enough, will that make it true?
Angelina Jolie & Julia Roberts come to mind. Highly-overrated. As far as guys go: Brad Pitt & Tom Cruise.
Gimme Burt Lancaster or Kirk Douglas any night of the week!
I’m not a big fan of Hugh Jackman or Tom Cruise. Both look too phony to me, insincere. Which is probably true in Cruise’s case, but can’t really judge Jackman based on his looks. I just don’t like that too perfect looking man thing… give me a little rough edge to them please :).
As far as women go- never understood the popularity Julia Roberts or Angelina Jolie. I like Anne Hathaway as an actress, but there is something funky about her face too, like her eyes are too big for it and the lower half of her face is too thin to support those huge eyes.
I thought the same thing until I saw him in his documentary journey across Africa (or some such thing - can’t remember the title). Without make-up, and with a little bit of sun on his skin, he is quite the handsome fella. It dawned on me then that it was the movies that were making him appear ugly. Fascinating.
