What fictional characters have you fallen most in love with?

Bonanza Jellybean and Angua.

Belinda Blanchard from Anne Rice’s Belinda.

Shug Avery from The Color Purple.

Lila Futuransky from Girls, Visions and Everything.

Sharon Osbourne from The Osbournes. What? I dare say all that plastic surgery qualifies her as fictional.

I know. I have weird taste.

Michelle from the American Pie movies. Cute, redhair, kinky, nerdy, and has a nice voice.

Han Solo, definitely. That crush lasted for ten years, at least.

And as much as it pains me to say it, Carth Onasi from Knights of the Old Republic. It’s so cheesy to get a crush on a videogame character, but the actor’s voice just pushed all my buttons.

I’m really not that much of a Star Wars geek, honest.

Lucky Jack Aubrey and Stephen Maturin, from O’Brien’s series of novels. I dig those guys. I know the way they talk, what they like to eat, the music they play together, and how they manage to get along even though they are very different people.

I’ve also been on their ship.

Mr. Darcy, naturally. And Sydney Carton (who is WAY too good for Lucie, who has the personality of a wet dishrag). And Herbert Pocket from Great Expectations. And Lord Peter Wimsey. And Remus Lupin. And Benedick, especially as played by Kenneth Branagh. And Richard III, both Shakespeare and Josephine Tey versions (both of whom, I think, ought to count as fictional characters). And Mr. Rochester. And Bosola from The Duchess of Malfi… (What? All right, I think my tastes are getting officially weird, so I’ll stop now.)

Actually? I can kinda see the appeal here.

I always liked Hamlet, though that’s such a teenage-Shakespeare-fangirl thing to do. And if fictionalized versions of historical people count, I sorta have a thing about Prince Hal, though not so much when he’s Henry V, except in the event that Henry V is being played by Kenneth Branagh.

…I’m not sure what it is about angsty princes who jerk you around emotionally.

And, changing authors, Aragorn. Totally. More so in the book, actually. And Faramir, too.

It’s from literature but based on a real person. Close enough eh?

I fell madly in love with Laura Ingalls. I was depressed for weeks after we broke up.

I mean finished the series.

There are literally hundreds, lets see if I can come up with a few…

Sam from Garden State
Cher from Clueless (movie, I’ve never seen the show)
Elinor Dashwood from Sense and Sensiblity
Aurelia from Love Actually
Joan from Joan of Arcadia
Kate Nickleby from Nicholas Nickleby
Amelie Poulin from Le Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain

Lord, I get crushes all the time, let’s see:

From books: Sherlock Holmes, Archie Goodwin, Frodo

From television: Spock, both Starsky and Hutch (they’d have to be a combo package tho’), Little Joe from Bonanza, currently Rodney on Stargate Atlantis

From movies: Hmmm, not many movie flames. I fell in love with Sam Neill’s character in My Brilliant Career, a relatively obscure Australian film.

From way back in the days when I thought all other girls were icky, Princess Leia. And from approximately that same timeframe, Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island. Oh, yeah, and Gadget Hackwrench from Chip and Dale’s Rescue Rangers. I think those are the only movie/TV characters I’ve fallen in love with, though of course there are a great number of others who are incredibly sexy.

From books, the top of the list would be Dr. Susan Calvin, from Asimov’s robot stories. The rest, in no particular order, include (probably not a comprehensive list) Lucy Pevensie, of the Narnia books; Eilonwy, from Lloyd Alexander’s Chronicles of Prydain; Caroline Mbutu, of Heinlein’s Tunnel in the Sky; Meg Murray, of A Wrinkle in Time; Hermione Granger, of the Harry Potter books; and Karethra Seldansdaughter, from David Weber’s Oath series.

Also add Piffany, from Nodwick, C.A.R.M.E.N., from Floyd, and Ms. Kyle, from PS 238, all three being comics by Aaron Williams, who seems to have a knack for drawing/writing appealing women, though in completely different ways.

I have a huge crush on Sheena, of Kid Radd fame.

She’s damn sexy for a 32 pixel sprite

Timothy Dalton as Mr. Rochester in the best version of Jane Eyre. Oh, oh, still.

Is this the right place to confess my crush on Angel from Rent, as played by the talented Wilson Jermaine Heredia?

That single same-sex (sorta) crush out of the way, Chava in Fiddler, Kim in Miss Saigon, Eponine in Les Mis, Elphaba in Wicked, and Mabel in Pirates.

Willow Rosenberg - seasons 1-3.

I’m not familiar with all those characters but the ones I am, I love as well. You, sir, have great taste in women.

I had a thing for The Little Mermaid.

Is that so wrong? :frowning:

Mr. J. L. B. Matekoni from Alexander McCall Smith’s Ladies’ Detective Agency series is an honest to God sweetheart. You can’t help but love the guy.

Archie Goodwin from the Nero Wolfe books.

Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast from the Preston and Childs books.

Oh, and Mockingbird? I love Micheal Tolliver too.*

*In a Mona Ramsey, Will and Grace, girl kind of way. So don’t hurt me.

They are great characters and easy to love. But thank you, the women who I am in love with in real life would be more than happy to hear that.

No problem. [minor hijack]Who do you think could pull the character off in a movie?[/minor hijack]

Wanted to add to the list; Methos (covered in woad or not) and, since the illustrious Chronos admitted to an interspecies crush, Justin from The Secret of NIMH. Sure, the book Justin was cool, but there’s something about that scene in the movie where he’s fighting with Brutus, and the way he growls out “Then you learned nothing.” Mmmm.

Anime/Cartoons:
Vash the Stampede and Nicholas D. Wolfwood from Trigun.
Roronoa Zoro and Sanji from One Piece.
Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop.
The Flash from JLA.

Movies:
Nightcrawler and Wolverine from X-Men 2.
Hellboy and Abe Sapien from Hellboy.

Games:
Dante Sparda from Devil May Cry. (This is of course assuming that Devil May Cry 2 never happened. At all.)
Ky Kiske, Anji Mito, Sol Badguy and Bridget from Guilty Gear XX.
Sephiroth and Vincent Valentine from Final Fantasy VII.

Books:
Captain Carrot from Discworld.
Remus Lupin from Harry Potter.

Sorry if this list is too long.
